There is no single screenshot key for Minecraft Bedrock: use the capture controls on the device you’re playing on. On Windows, press Windows + Shift + S to select an area or Windows + PrtScn to capture the full screen. On Switch, press the Capture Button; on PS5, open the Create menu and choose Take Screenshot. Minecraft’s own camera and gallery were announced for Bedrock Preview in 2024, so they may not be available in your stable version.
Windows PC
Capture the full screen
- Press Windows + PrtScn. On supported keyboards without a PrtScn key, Microsoft lists Fn + Windows + Space Bar as an alternative.
- Find the image in Pictures > Screenshots.

Capture only part of the screen
- Press Windows + Shift + S.
- Select the area to capture, then save the snip.
Snipping Tool captures are automatically saved to the Screenshots folder by default; you can change the save behavior or location in Snipping Tool settings. See Microsoft’s Snipping Tool instructions.
Minecraft’s 2019 guide also describes using Windows + G and the Game Bar camera icon, or Windows + Alt + PrtScn. Because that guidance is older, use Microsoft’s current Windows instructions if those Game Bar controls don’t work as expected.

Nintendo Switch
- Press the controller’s Capture Button while playing.
- Open Album from the HOME Menu to view the screenshot.
The button is on the left Joy-Con on Switch and Switch OLED, below the +Control Pad on Switch Lite, and above the +Control Pad on the Pro Controller. Nintendo’s capture and viewing instructions cover the process.
PlayStation
PS5
- Press the DualSense Create button to open the Create menu.
- Choose Take Screenshot.
- Open Media Gallery to view saved captures.
PlayStation notes that some content cannot be captured. If a capture is blocked, try another permitted in-game moment. See PlayStation’s PS5 screenshot and sharing guide.

PS4
Minecraft’s 2019 Screenshotting Guide says to hold SHARE to capture directly, or tap it to open a menu with screenshot options. If your console’s controls differ, follow the options currently shown on screen.
Xbox
Minecraft’s 2019 guide says that on Xbox One you can double-tap the Xbox button, then press Y to take a screenshot. This is older guidance; if the button sequence differs on your console, use its current capture menu. The guide does not establish current Xbox Series X|S button instructions.

Phones and tablets
iPhone
- Face ID models: Quickly press and release the Side button and Volume Up together.
- Touch ID models: Quickly press and release the Side button and Home button together.
Apple says iPhone screenshots are saved in Photos under Screenshots. See Apple’s iPhone screenshot instructions.
Android
Minecraft’s older guide describes Power + Volume Down as a common Android screenshot shortcut. Button placement and behavior vary by device, so use your phone’s current screenshot control if that combination doesn’t work.

Does Minecraft Bedrock have its own screenshot button?
Minecraft Feedback announced an in-game camera button and screenshot gallery for Bedrock Preview on August 7, 2024. The announcement says screenshots can be taken with the camera icon in the Game Menu, viewed in the gallery from Profile, and shared externally on PC and mobile. It also describes the feature as Preview and says development was ongoing; it does not establish that the feature is available in every stable release or on every platform. If you see the camera icon in your Game Menu, use it and check Profile for the gallery. Otherwise, use your device’s capture controls above. Read the August 7, 2024 Bedrock Preview announcement.

The destination depends on both your device and capture method. In particular, don’t assume the Preview gallery is where a system-level screenshot will appear.
