There is no official, fixed Primogem total for fully exploring Genshin Impact. Exploration can earn Primogems, but the amount depends on what you count as “full”: reaching an area’s displayed progress, collecting every chest and puzzle reward, or also completing exploration-linked quests and achievements. HoYoverse’s published guidance describes ways to earn Primogems and how exploration progress works; it does not provide a universal all-world payout.
What counts as full exploration?
The phrase can refer to different goals, and those goals do not necessarily produce the same total:
- Displayed area progress: the percentage shown for an area in the game.
- All exploration rewards: collecting available chests and puzzle rewards, plus other reward-bearing objects and activities.
- A broader completion run: exploration rewards alongside quests or achievements needed to open areas or tied to exploration.
HoYoverse says that opening chests, finding Elemental Oculi, unlocking Waypoints, and completing other exploration activities increase an area’s Exploration Progress (Version 1.1: “About Reputation and Exploration Progress”). That description explains the progress system; it does not say that reaching 100% guarantees every Primogem reward in the area has been claimed.
What does HoYoverse say earns Primogems?
HoYoverse’s Help Center lists exploration as a way to earn Primogems, specifically naming chests and unlocking Waypoints and Domains (“How can I get more Primogems?”). These are examples of reward routes, not a complete all-world inventory or a published total.

The official Genshin Impact map can help locate places and areas, but the cited official material does not use the map to state a cumulative Primogem yield or compare regions by yield.
Why there is no reliable single total
A meaningful tally needs a defined scope. It must identify which areas and game version are counted, whether “full” means the in-game percentage or every reward object, and whether quests, achievements, and one-time exploration-system rewards are included. Account history matters as well: a reward already claimed cannot be collected again. The official sources cited here do not publish an itemized all-world ledger that resolves those differences.

- Percentage is not a reward checklist. The official explanation names several activities that affect progress, but does not promise that 100% means every reward has been collected.
- Quest scope changes the count. Some quests may be part of opening areas or may be included in a player’s idea of a complete run.
- Past claims change what remains. A fresh theoretical total and the Primogems still available on a particular account are different questions.
How to judge a player-reported total
A Reddit player report from July 2026 gives a personal tally of 51,145 Primogems from an exploration-focused run. The player said they did not collect every chest and included some quests needed to unlock areas. It is an individual, explicitly incomplete account—not an official figure, a typical result, or a guaranteed payout (player report).
Before comparing any estimate with your own run, check:
- Which regions and game version it covers.
- Whether the target was displayed map progress or every reward object.
- Whether quests, achievements, and unlock requirements were included.
- Whether the figure came from an account’s actual tally or a theoretical item count.
Without those details, a large number may describe a different kind of completion than the one you have in mind. The available official sources also do not establish a reliable region-by-region Primogem ranking.

- Choose a scope. List the areas and version you want to count, and decide whether you mean the in-game percentage or all reward-bearing exploration content.
- Set inclusion rules. Decide whether to include quests, achievements, and rewards from systems or unlocks associated with exploration.
- Track rewards you have already claimed. Your remaining potential is not the same as the total content originally offered.
- Use an itemized tally. Count only rewards you can verify for that scope; label an estimate as an estimate rather than treating it as an official total.
HoYoverse’s Primogem earning guidance identifies relevant routes, while its map provides a navigation tool. Neither source supplies a universal number to plug into the calculation.
