What Capcom has confirmed about Leon’s age
Capcom’s February 27, 2026 announcement identifies Resident Evil Requiem as the ninth main-series entry and names Leon S. Kennedy as one of its central characters, alongside FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft. It does not state Leon’s age or give a calendar year for the events.

Without an official age or story year, there is no reliable basis in that announcement for calculating how old Leon is in the game. Treat any precise age presented without an official timeline source as unconfirmed, rather than as established canon.
Why the game’s release date does not answer the question
A game’s release date is not necessarily the year its story occurs. Capcom’s announcement confirms Leon’s appearance, but it does not connect the game’s release date to its in-story chronology. That means the release year cannot be used by itself to calculate his age.

- Amazon Exclusive - 2 sided poster included in every game!
- Grace Ashcroft, an FBI intelligence analyst who is introverted and easily scared, representing a new type of character for the Resident Evil series. Grace will experience horror from the same perspective as the player as she learns to overcome her fears throughout the course of the story.
- For the first time ever in Resident Evil history, players will be able to freely switch between both first- and third-person perspectives throughout the game.
- An Anniversary to Remember: With March 2026 marking the Resident Evil series’ 30-year anniversary, Resident Evil Requiem marks its own milestone in the franchise.
- Pre-orders for Resident Evil Requiem are now open, with the bonus of Grace’s costume: Apocalypse. Please note that the picture weapon does not come with the costume, but it can be obtained in-game.
What would establish Leon’s age
A confirmed age would require an official source giving Leon’s age in the story, or enough official timeline information to calculate it—such as his birth date and the year the events occur. The Capcom announcement reviewed provides neither. Until official material supplies that information, Leon’s exact age in Requiem remains unconfirmed.
