To craft a Potion in Monster Hunter Wilds, combine one Herb. To make a Mega Potion, combine a Potion with Honey. Open the Crafting List through Items & Equipment or at a tent; you can also access crafting from the main menu during a hunt. If you need materials held in storage, go to a tent.
How to craft a Potion or Mega Potion
- Gather Herbs for Potions and Honey for Mega Potions. Material locations are marked on the map by default, according to GamesRadar’s crafting guide.
- Open the Crafting List from Items & Equipment, or use the list at a tent. During a hunt, crafting is also available from the main menu; a tent is needed to access resources in storage, as described by PlayStation’s Monster Hunter Wilds guide.
- Select the recipe you want and craft it. For a recipe you use often, enable its automatic crafting option in the Crafting List.
Potion recipes and what they do

| Lifepowder | Godbug Essence + Blue Mushroom | Creates a healing cloud that affects you and nearby hunters. |
Recipe ingredients and qualitative effects in this table are from the GamesRadar crafting guide. It does not give exact health amounts, so the effects are described qualitatively.
Which healing items should you carry?
- For routine healing: Carry Mega Potions for their moderate recovery. Keep Potions as a basic option when you have Herbs available.
- If poison is a concern: Bring Antidotes to cure it, or Herbal Medicine if you also want slight healing.
- For a full recovery: The listed Max Potion fully restores health and temporarily maximizes the Health Gauge.
- To help nearby hunters: Lifepowder creates a healing cloud affecting you and nearby hunters.
Can you craft during a hunt?
Yes. Open the main menu and access the Crafting List while on a hunt. That lets you craft with materials in your carried inventory. To draw on ingredients held in storage, visit a tent. Menu wording or availability can vary by game updates, so use the current in-game menu if a label differs.
How automatic crafting works
Automatic crafting is set per recipe in the Crafting List. Once enabled, it crafts when you have one ingredient and acquire the other. Turning it on does not immediately combine materials you already have; you need to obtain the missing ingredient for the trigger to occur.

How to use a potion
Use a healing item from the item interface or item bar. The available guide material does not establish exact button inputs, animation duration, or interruption behavior. Check the current in-game control settings for the correct input on your platform rather than relying on a button prompt from another version or control setup.
