To check whether your Fortnite account has a ban, try signing in, review the email linked to your Epic Games account, then check the account-specific record in Epic’s Sanctions and Appeals Portal. The portal is the clearest place to confirm a sanction’s status and duration. Being able to log in does not necessarily mean your account is unrestricted.
Check for a ban in Fortnite

Try signing in to Fortnite with the affected Epic Games account. Epic says a ban message may appear if the account is banned.

If Fortnite is unavailable in the Epic Games Launcher, treat that as a clue rather than a definitive account-specific result. Check the portal while signed in to the affected account.
Look for an email from Epic
Check the inbox for the email address associated with the Epic account, including spam or junk folders. Epic says its ban notice describes the type of ban, its duration, and the rule involved.

Review the listed sanction, status, and duration. If you need to locate a specific notice, search using its Sanction ID.
Understand what the sanction restricts
A sanction does not always block every Fortnite feature. Epic describes matchmaking bans that can allow login and chat while preventing access to experiences, as well as social bans that restrict chat. Check the portal’s details rather than relying on whether you can open the game.

Epic says temporary Fortnite player bans can last up to 365 days, while permanent bans are indefinite. The duration shown for the affected account in the portal is the relevant one.

Use the Sanctions and Appeals Portal and the Sanction ID in Epic’s email to submit an eligible appeal. Epic Player Support cannot review or appeal a ban on your behalf, and some communication violations may not be eligible for appeal. If the portal shows that an appeal is pending review, Epic’s ban guidance says you can contact support for more details; the appeal itself still goes through the portal.
