Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteTo get a Fortnite refund, first check what you bought and how you paid. Eligible Item Shop cosmetics bought with V-Bucks can be canceled within 24 hours if unused, or returned within 30 days with a Return Ticket. Real-money purchases charged by a console store or another seller must be refunded through that seller; Epic’s Item Shop process does not cover every Fortnite purchase.
First identify the purchase and payment route
Check your purchase history or receipt before starting. Epic’s billing support separates Fortnite Item Shop purchases from in-island transactions, Epic Games Store purchases, and Fab Marketplace purchases; use the support route for the specific purchase type rather than assuming one policy applies to all of them. See Epic’s billing and payment support guide.

- Item Shop item bought with V-Bucks: Use the in-game or web Item Shop return process described below if the item qualifies.
- Real-money purchase charged by a third-party platform or seller: Request the refund from the platform or seller that charged you. Epic says it cannot process refunds for third-party purchases; its Item Shop support article directs players to the platform’s refund process.
- Developer-made island or another purchase type: Follow the matching category in Epic’s billing support directory. Developer-made island purchases are excluded from the Item Shop ticket process.
How Item Shop refunds with V-Bucks work
Epic Games Player Support’s current published instructions, on an undated support page, describe two ways to return eligible Item Shop purchases. Both remove the item from your account and return V-Bucks—not cash.
Cancel within 24 hours
You can cancel an eligible Item Shop purchase within 24 hours of buying it if you have not used or equipped the item in any game mode. The item can be canceled only once. If the cancellation succeeds, Fortnite removes it and returns its V-Bucks cost.

- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
- Redemption: Online
Use a Return Ticket within 30 days
After the 24-hour cancellation window, an eligible item bought within the last 30 days may be returned with a Return Ticket. Epic says each account starts with three tickets, receives one new ticket every 365 days, and can hold no more than three at a time. If you bought the item as part of a bundle, you must return the entire bundle.
If the 24-hour window has passed and you have no ticket, Epic says this process cannot refund the purchase. Epic Support cannot grant extra tickets. Check the current rules in Epic’s Item Shop purchase support article before submitting, as menu labels and support instructions can change.

Return an eligible Item Shop purchase
Choose either route and follow the confirmation prompts:
In Fortnite
- Open Fortnite and select your player icon.
- Open the menu and choose Support and Refunds.
- Choose Return or cancel purchase.
- Find the item, select it, and confirm.
On the Fortnite web shop
- Sign in to the Fortnite web shop and select your player icon.
- Choose Return and Cancel Purchases.
- Choose Show Purchases.
- Select the item and confirm.
If you cannot find the flow or the wording differs, use Epic’s current support instructions rather than relying on an old platform-specific walkthrough.

Purchases that this process does not cover
Epic lists these as unavailable through Cancel Purchase or Return Tickets:
- Passes, including the Fortnite Festival Pass, and pass levels
- Premium Reward Track purchases
- Gifted purchases
- Level Up Quest Packs
- Certain Save the World loot llamas and event or weekly items
- Purchases in developer-made islands
Battle Pass rewards earned through gameplay are not purchases and are not eligible for return. Epic says an error when attempting to return one may mean the item is ineligible; see its return-error guidance.

Epic also says some specific items may qualify for a tokenless refund in special circumstances. This is limited, may not be available on request, and is not a general alternative to the ticket rules. Details are in Epic’s article on tokenless refunds.

- Refresh the V-Bucks balance in the Item Shop.
- Confirm you are signed into the Epic account where the refund was processed.
- Check the in-game currency balance. If the original purchase used a platform balance, such as Nintendo balance, the refund may go back to that platform balance rather than the shared wallet.
- Restart Fortnite.
For further steps, consult Epic’s guidance for missing refunded V-Bucks.
If you paid real money through a platform
Contact the store or seller shown on the charge or receipt, not Epic Support for an Epic-issued refund. Epic’s Player Support explains: “If you want a refund for purchased content with real money through a third party that is not Epic Games, Epic does not have the ability to process refunds for those purchases, please visit the Platform Refunds request page for more details.” Eligibility and steps depend on the seller’s policy. Any statutory consumer rights can also depend on your location and transaction details.
