Use Roblox’s “Forgot Password or Username?” option on the login page to reset a forgotten password or recover a username. You’ll need an email address or phone number already associated with the account. If neither is available—or verification blocks you—contact Roblox Support, which requires proof of account ownership before making changes.
Start with the sign-in method you remember
Try your Roblox username and password first. You can also sign in with an email address if it is verified on the account. If one email address is associated with multiple Roblox usernames, Roblox directs you to sign in with the username instead. See Roblox’s email login instructions.
Phone-number sign-in is supported only in some Roblox mobile apps and requires a verified phone number. It is not available in every country. Details are in Roblox’s phone login instructions.
If you forgot your Roblox password
- Open the Roblox login page and select “Forgot Password or Username?”
- To recover by email, enter the address attached to the account and follow the reset instructions Roblox sends.
- If no email is attached but a phone number is, select the Phone tab, choose the country code, enter the number, and verify the code Roblox sends. Phone recovery is not available in every country.
- If the email does not arrive, check your spam or junk folder. Choose a new password that you do not use for another account.
Roblox’s official steps are in I Forgot My Password. For an account under 13, Roblox also documents a parent-verified parental recovery email option in its email and phone verification guidance.

If you forgot your Roblox username
Return to “Forgot Password or Username?” and use the account’s email address or phone number to retrieve the username. Some Roblox purchase receipts may also show it. Roblox says username recovery through these methods is not available if you have no email, phone number, or purchase history associated with the account. See I Forgot My Username.
If a 2-step verification code is blocking login
- Check that the code is going to the correct inbox, then look in spam and filtered folders.
- On the verification screen, try Resend Code or Start Over.
- Choose another verification method already configured on the account, such as an email code or saved backup code.
- If no configured method works, contact Roblox Customer Support.
Roblox says email 2-step verification codes expire after 15 minutes and stop working after an incorrect entry. Its 2-step verification troubleshooting guide covers the available steps. A security key is an optional sign-in method, not a way to recover an account; it matters only if the account and device were set up to use a compatible security-key or passkey flow. Roblox lists YubiKey 5 as an example in its phishing-resistant account security guidance.

When Roblox asks you to change your password
If Roblox displays a password-change banner because of suspicious activity or possible exposure through another service, change the password to a unique one. Consider enabling 2-step verification afterward. Roblox explains the banner in Why am I seeing a banner asking me to change my password?
Choose the recovery route that fits
| What’s happening | Next step |
|---|---|
| You know the username and password | Sign in with them; use the username if your email is linked to multiple accounts. |
| You forgot the password and have the account email | Use “Forgot Password or Username?” and follow the email reset instructions. |
| You forgot the password and have an attached phone, but no email | Use the Phone tab and verify the texted code, if phone recovery is available in your country. |
| You forgot the username | Use the same recovery area with the attached email or phone; check eligible purchase receipts if needed. |
| A 2-step code is the obstacle | Check delivery and filtered folders, resend or restart, or use another method already configured. |
| You lack recovery details or cannot complete verification | Contact Roblox Support and be prepared to verify ownership. |
