You can’t join the Marathon Closed Alpha now: Bungie’s test ran from April 23 to May 4, 2025, and those dates have passed. Bungie has not announced a new closed Alpha application in its September 24, 2026 roadmap. For any future test, check Bungie’s Marathon news and the official Marathon Discord for an announcement with current instructions.
Can you still sign up for the Marathon Closed Alpha?
No. Bungie’s original Closed Alpha took place April 23–May 4, 2025. Its sign-up window is over, so the original instructions are historical rather than a way to register now. Bungie’s September 24, 2026 roadmap discusses future updates but does not announce a new closed Alpha application. The reviewed official sources do not say whether or when another test will be held.
Bungie launched Marathon on March 5, 2026, after an open Server Slam preview from February 26 to March 2. A later Open Play Week tied to Season 2 ended June 9, 2026; neither event is an active Alpha sign-up. How the 2025 Closed Alpha sign-up worked
For the April 2025 Alpha, Bungie directed interested players to join the official Marathon Discord and follow the sign-up steps posted there. The test was for players aged 18 or older in North America. Bungie said invitations would be sent when the test began and throughout the test, so applying did not guarantee an invite. These instructions no longer lead to an open application.

Bungie later removed the Alpha’s non-disclosure agreement, but that did not change the application dates or guarantee access. The original announcement is Bungie’s April 12, 2025 gameplay reveal.
The Closed Technical Test was a separate event
Bungie held a different test in October 2025, with its own application route, eligibility details, and confidentiality rules. It is not the same sign-up as the April Alpha, and its application windows have also closed.

Where to look for a future Marathon test
- Check Bungie’s official Marathon news for a new test announcement and its dates.
- Use the sign-up route named in that announcement. For the 2025 Alpha, Bungie used the official Marathon Discord; do not assume a future test will use the same route.
- Read the announcement’s region, age, platform, NDA, and invitation terms before applying. A past application or test invitation does not establish eligibility for a future event.
