It depends on what you mean by “multiple instances.” To switch between Roblox accounts, use the web Account Switcher. To test several sessions while developing a game, use Roblox Studio’s Server & Clients tool. Roblox’s current official guidance does not confirm a supported way to keep multiple live Roblox game clients open at once on one computer.
Choose the option that matches what you want to do

Switch between Roblox accounts on the web
Roblox’s Account Switcher lets eligible users save up to five accounts on one device and switch between them on the web. The accounts are saved on that device; they do not sync to your other devices. Roblox limits the feature to users age 13 or older and accounts without parent privileges. See Roblox Support’s Account Switching instructions for current details.
- Sign in to Roblox on the website.
- On the Home page, select the gear icon.
- Select Switch Account.
- Add an account or select a saved account to switch to. You can save up to five accounts on that device.
This changes which account you are using; it does not keep a second live game client open in parallel.
Use Roblox Studio to test multiple sessions
If you are building an experience and need to see how it behaves across connected sessions, use the Server & Clients option in Roblox Studio’s testing tools. Studio launches test sessions for development. These are not a documented way to run multiple separate player accounts in a live Roblox experience. See Roblox Studio’s testing modes documentation.

Can you keep multiple live Roblox clients open on one PC?
Roblox’s current official support and documentation cited here do not establish a supported method for running multiple live player clients simultaneously on one computer. An older Roblox Developer Forum staff response said that multiple simultaneous player clients were not officially supported at that time, but that historical statement is not proof of current policy. You can read the dated discussion, “The ability to run 2 ROBLOX Clients at once”.
That distinction matters because online instructions may describe unofficial workarounds rather than a Roblox-supported feature. The sources cited here do not verify that process modifications, account managers, emulator setups, or combining different Roblox apps will safely or reliably create multiple live sessions. Avoid relying on them if you need a supported workflow, and ask Roblox Support about your specific use case.

Why old Microsoft Store app instructions may be stale
Roblox’s current Microsoft Store guidance identifies the replacement app as Roblox – Windows, while the older app was named Roblox. Roblox says the newer app replaces the legacy version and advises uninstalling the old app after installing and signing in to the replacement. Its guidance does not say that pairing the Store app with the desktop client enables two live game sessions. Check Roblox’s Microsoft Store app instructions before following older tutorials.
Roblox announced the updated Microsoft Store and Xbox-on-PC app on September 12, 2025, describing Windows performance and stability improvements and Xbox profile integration. That update helps explain why older directions involving the Store app may no longer match the current setup; it does not confirm simultaneous live-client support. See Roblox’s announcement.
