In Minecraft Java Edition, you can use /give to create an item with a level 1000 enchantment. The command depends on your game version: Java 1.21.5 and newer use the current format, while older versions need different syntax. Standard Bedrock commands do not provide a genuine Sharpness 1000 item.
Java Edition: use the command for your version
These commands give the player running them one Netherite sword with Sharpness 1000. Enter the one that matches your installed Java Edition version.

Java 1.21.5 and newer
/give @s minecraft:netherite_sword[enchantments={"minecraft:sharpness":1000}] 1In Java 1.21.5, Mojang changed the enchantments component by inlining its levels field. How to enter the command
- Check your edition and version. These item commands are for Java Edition, not Bedrock.
- Allow commands. In single-player, enable cheats or use the applicable temporary permission method. On a multiplayer server, you need operator status or equivalent permission to run
/give. - Open chat and paste the command for your version, then run it.
- Check your inventory. The command gives the executor one Netherite sword with Sharpness 1000.
@s targets the command executor, and the final 1 is the quantity. To change the item or enchantment, replace the corresponding identifier with a valid one; compatibility and effects vary by enchantment and item.
Can you get level 1000 enchantments in Bedrock Edition?
Not as a genuine Sharpness 1000 item using standard Bedrock commands. Microsoft documents /enchant as applying an enchantment to the player’s selected item, with cheats required; its documented /give syntax uses positional arguments and optional JSON components, not Java’s item-component syntax. A Strength effect changes the player; it does not put Sharpness 1000 on a sword. The command above creates an enchanted item in Java rather than applying a player effect.

The Java examples use /give with item data to create the over-level enchantment. The documented Bedrock /enchant command applies an enchantment to the selected item, and Microsoft lists cheats as required and Game Directors permission for that command. Java multiplayer command access depends on server permissions; the /give command will not work for an account without them.
