You cannot switch Roblox’s full server-list interface back to its older version with a universal setting. Roblox announced in September 2025 that it was bringing the server list back after feedback, but with changes—including removing identifying information about players who are not friends. Check the current server controls on the experience page first; the list may be available even if it does not look or behave like older screenshots.
What changed to the Roblox server list?
On September 29, 2025, Roblox said it had decided to bring back the server list after collecting feedback and use cases. The company also said it changed how friends’ servers are displayed and removed identifying information about players who are not friends. That means the return of a server list does not necessarily restore every detail of the older interface or its player information. Roblox’s announcement describes the changes.
Roblox’s explanation for the earlier removal was that bots could scrape the list and send malicious friend requests and private messages. In the announcement, Developer Relations contributor Dylan56202 wrote: “Recently we released an update which removed the Server List. At the time our primary reason for removing this feature was due to bots which were able to easily scrape through the server list and spam users with malicious friend requests and private messages.”
A 2017 Roblox explanation described an earlier arrangement in which users would see only servers their friends were playing in, citing bot scraping, spam, and scalability. That is historical context, not a description of the present-day server list. Read the 2017 explanation.

How to check for servers in an experience
- Open the experience’s Roblox page. Look for the server controls Roblox currently provides on that page. The list has returned, but its layout and displayed information may differ from older guides or screenshots.
- Check the experience itself. Some experiences may use their own server-switching, filtering, or teleport flows, so the way you join or move between servers can vary by game. This is not a guaranteed option in every experience; see the secondary 2026 guide to Roblox server lists.
- Decide what you mean by “old server list.” If you mean the former visual layout, the available 2026 guide reports no universal official setting to restore the complete former interface. If you mean identifying players who are not your friends, Roblox’s announcement says that information was removed; do not treat a workaround as a way to bypass that privacy choice.
Should you use an extension to restore the old list?
Extensions are third-party software, not Roblox settings. A Roblox Developer Forum post advertises RoPlus features such as region filtering, ping sorting, and player search, and a source repository exists for an extension named Restore Old Roblox Server List. Those sources establish that the features were advertised and the project existed; they do not verify current compatibility, safety, or reliable restoration. A third-party listing reports that Roblox API changes broke an old-list extension and other extensions that search for people. That report is not independent confirmation of current status. Before considering any extension, check its current store listing, permissions, developer, and recent compatibility information; do not assume that an old installation still works. What Server History does—and does not do
Roblox Creator Updates describes Server History in Server Management as showing running servers and servers that shut down, crashed, or restarted within the previous 30 days.
