The quickest option is a flat, wall-mounted pixel-art heart. A published 9×9-block plan uses 33 red wool, 20 black concrete and 1 white terracotta; follow its row-by-row guide for the exact placement.
Build a 9×9 pixel-art heart
- Choose a flat wall or clear vertical space at least 9 blocks wide and 9 blocks high.
- Gather 33 red wool, 20 black concrete and 1 white terracotta, the 54 blocks listed for the MC Toolkit heart pattern.
- Use the plan’s row-by-row guide to place the blocks, keeping its stated orientation. The pattern page also offers a build-plan image and downloadable formats.
- Step back and check the silhouette. For a different color scheme, keep the outline and choose blocks that contrast clearly with the background.
The pattern’s dimensions and materials tell you what to gather, but not the individual rows; use the linked plan rather than guessing the placements.
Plan a larger or custom heart
Decide first whether the heart will be a flat wall design, a floor pattern or a three-dimensional sculpture. For a larger build, sketch a block grid and scale the outline before gathering materials. Planning the shape first can affect the rest of a build: Minecraft’s official build-structure guide, published May 8, 2017, notes that “The shape of your build affects everything from the foundations to the roof.”
For a custom outline, draw the silhouette on graph paper or in a grid and assign a block to each filled square. A flat design can then be placed one block deep; a 3D sculpture needs a separate plan for its depth and side profile. The Minecraft custom block-geometry feature is for creator add-ons in Bedrock Edition, not a requirement for building an ordinary heart from blocks.
