How to Install Tekken 8 Mods on PC

For a standard Tekken 8 PC mod packaged as a .pak file, extract the archive and copy the mod file into TEKKEN 8/Polaris/Content/Paks/~mods. If ~mods does not exist, create it with the leading tilde. Check the mod’s own instructions first: some downloads need particular files or options, and compatibility varies by mod and game version.

Install a .pak mod manually

1. Read the mod page. Check its installation notes, compatibility information, and any instructions about which files or character options to use.
2. Extract the download. If it is an archive, unpack it and select the file or files the author specifies. Do not assume the archive contains only one usable file.
3. Open the game’s Paks folder. In your Tekken 8 PC installation directory, go to Polaris/Content/Paks. The cited example uses the typical Steam Windows library layout.
4. Open or create ~mods. If the folder is missing, create one named exactly ~mods, including the tilde.
5. Copy the mod file. Put the .pak file in Polaris/Content/Paks/~mods. The cited audio mod specifically says to use ~mods, not a folder named Mods. See the mod page’s installation notes.
6. Launch the game and check the change. If it does not appear, close the game, remove or disable the file you just added, then recheck the mod’s instructions and version compatibility before changing anything else.

Use a mod manager instead

A community-made manager is an alternative for Windows players who want to add archives and toggle mods without manually moving each file. Its page says it supports ZIP, RAR, and 7Z archives, can organize and enable or disable mods, and flags conflicts when mods use the same pak filename. It is not a Bandai Namco product. Check the manager’s page for its instructions and release details.

1. Download and extract the manager, then run the app.
2. Use its game-location control to select Tekken 8’s Paks folder.
3. Add a mod archive through the app or drag it into the app, then enable it with the ACTIVE checkbox.

The manager page lists a self-contained build and a smaller framework-dependent build; the latter requires the .NET 8 Desktop Runtime (x64). The latest listed multi-folder release, version 1.1.0, is marked experimental. Its expanded support for Mods, ~mods, and LogicMods should therefore be treated as experimental rather than guaranteed. Manual installation or manager?

Check compatibility and handle conflicts

Compatibility is specific to each mod. For example, the cited audio mod page, updated September 2, 2026, states compatibility through Tekken 8 version 3.02.01 for that mod only; it does not establish compatibility for other downloads. Check the individual mod page for its supported game version and update date. Check the example mod’s compatibility notes.

Mods with the same pak filename may conflict or override one another. The manager says it can flag same-name conflicts, but the available instructions do not establish a universal load-order fix. Disable one conflicting mod at a time or ask the mod author how to resolve it.

What about console, online matches, and tournaments?

The cited installation guidance covers the PC game; it does not establish a corresponding method for PlayStation or Xbox. Do not assume these file steps apply to consoles.
