To share eligible PlayStation Plus benefits with other accounts on the same PS5, sign in with the subscribing account and enable Console Sharing and Offline Play at Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play, then choose Enable. This shares selected benefits on that console; it does not transfer the subscription to another account or share it with someone using a separate PS5.
Enable Console Sharing and Offline Play on PS5
- Sign in to the PS5 with the account that has the PlayStation Plus membership and owns or has downloaded the games you want to share.
- Open Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play.
- Select Enable. Other users of that PS5 can then access eligible content and benefits from the enabling account.
Sony automatically allows this setting on the PS5 used for the account’s first PlayStation sign-in. If you are setting up a different PS5, disable Console Sharing and Offline Play on the previous one first. Only one PS5 at a time can have it enabled for an account. What other accounts on that PS5 can use
With sharing enabled, other users of the console can play the enabling account’s purchased and downloaded games and media, including when the PS5 is offline. They can also use selected PlayStation Plus benefits:
- Online multiplayer, subject to applicable parental-control settings.
- Downloaded Monthly Plus games.
- Eligible games in the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog or Classics Catalog, when included in the member’s plan and still available.
- Downloaded games purchased by the subscriber at a PlayStation Plus discount.
The subscriber’s membership must remain active for subscription-based benefits, and catalog access depends on the plan and current catalog. Sony’s PlayStation Plus sharing rules describe these as benefits available to accounts on the enabled console.

What sharing does not include
Sharing is limited to selected benefits on the enabled PS5. It does not give another account the subscriber’s full membership or let that account perform subscriber-only actions.

The distinction is between using eligible downloaded content on the shared console and carrying out account-specific actions such as redeeming a game or making a discounted purchase. Sony’s full list of shareable and non-shareable PlayStation Plus benefits explains the exclusions.

Can you share Plus with a friend on another PS5?
No. Console Sharing and Offline Play applies to accounts using the PS5 where the feature is enabled; it does not grant Plus benefits to a friend using a separate console. Sony says games and Plus benefits can be shared with accounts on one PS5 with Console Sharing and Offline Play activated, alongside the account’s primary PS4 console. The PS5 setting itself can be enabled on only one PS5 at a time for that account.
If Enable is unavailable or a game is locked
Enable is unavailable
Check whether the account already has Console Sharing and Offline Play enabled on another PS5, and disable it there. If the setting still cannot be enabled, Sony recommends checking PlayStation service status, installing the latest PS5 system software, restarting the console, and turning off the router for at least five minutes before restarting it. Follow the current steps on Sony’s troubleshooting page.

A shared game or benefit is missing
- Confirm the subscribing account that enabled sharing purchased or downloaded the game.
- For subscription content, check that the PlayStation Plus membership is active and that the game remains available through the member’s plan.
- Confirm Console Sharing and Offline Play is enabled on the PS5 being used.
A padlock icon can indicate a license or network problem. Use Sony’s PS5 sharing and offline-play troubleshooting guidance to check the issue.
The previous PS5 is inaccessible
If you cannot reach the old console to disable sharing, Sony allows remote deactivation of all devices through Account Management. This all-device remote deactivation is limited to once every six months. Because it deactivates all devices rather than only the old PS5, review Sony’s account and console instructions before using it.

For current membership requirements and plan context, consult PlayStation Plus support. Catalog availability and benefits can vary by plan, so check the membership information for the account doing the sharing.
