Roblox accounts are available from age five; under its current Terms, anyone under 18 must create an account with a parent or legal guardian.
What you need to create a Roblox account
Roblox asks for a username, date of birth, and a password or other authentication details requested by the signup form. Gender is optional. The layout may differ by device or region, so follow the fields shown in the official site or app.
- Username: Choose one that does not reveal your real name or other personal information.
- Date of birth: Enter it accurately. Roblox uses age to determine default settings and access to some features.
- Password: Make it unique and difficult for someone else to guess.
Roblox says users must be at least five years old to create an account. Its Terms require users under 18 to create their account with a parent or legal guardian; some features also require a parent to enable them through Parental Controls. See Roblox’s Terms of Use and age-change support article.
How to sign up for Roblox
- Open the official Roblox website or launch an official Roblox app. Avoid signup links sent by strangers.
- Select the option to create an account or sign up.
- Enter your date of birth and choose a username and password, following the form’s prompts. Leave gender blank if you prefer; it is optional.
- If you are under 18, have a parent or legal guardian help create the account and accept the Terms.
- Submit the form and complete any additional on-screen prompts to finish setting up the account.
Do not enter your login details on a third-party page or inside a Roblox experience. Roblox says to enter login information only on its official website or the login screen of an official app; its guidance is in Keep Your Account Safe.

Secure the account after signup
Add a recovery email so you can reset a forgotten password. Roblox’s privacy policy says a parent or guardian’s email can be used for a child under 13. A parent can also use a linked account to manage parental controls. Review Roblox’s Privacy and Cookie Policy for its account information guidance.
Consider enabling 2-Step Verification (2SV) in account settings. Roblox requires a verified email to enable 2SV, and its available methods include email, an authenticator app, a security key, and a second device, subject to device, browser, and account availability. A physical security key is optional and is not needed to sign up. See Add 2-Step Verification to Your Account.

- Log out when you use a shared computer.

Account creation is different from age verification
You do not need to complete age verification simply to create an account. Roblox uses age checks for access to certain features and age-appropriate experiences. Its support article describes facial age estimation and ID verification; ID verification is available only to users aged 13 or older.
