To solve Daisy Took’s riddles in Tales of the Shire, find the landmark described by each clue and interact with the sparkling story event there. The three locations are a tree on an eye-shaped island near Cotton Farm, a large waterfall in Bywater’s southeast corner, and a beached rowboat at the dock east of the village.
How Daisy’s riddle discoveries work
Each clue points to a distinct landmark in Bywater. When you reach the right place, interact with the shimmering or glowing sparkles to register the discovery; Daisy appears when it is complete. If the marker does not trigger, make sure you are at the landmark itself rather than nearby scenery.
First riddle: the eye of the lake
“In the eye of the lake, there stands a tree. And in its roots, you’ll find what you seek.”
- Go to the small lake south of Willow’s Workshop, near Cotton Farm. It is near the bottom-center of the map, just to the right of the farm.
- Cross the stepping stones to the small island in the lake, which is shaped like an eye.
- Interact with the sparkles by the tree roots. Daisy appears when the discovery registers.

Second riddle: the roaring falls
“In the heart of the forest, it calls. Where the river doesn’t run, it falls. Where the water doesn’t babble, it roars.”
- Head to the southeastern corner of the map, near Tree Root Pool.
- Look for the large waterfall, not the river, and cross the white bridge.
- Interact with the glowing spot near the edge of the falls. Daisy appears after the discovery completes.
Both guides place the correct waterfall in the bottom-right of the map: Steam Community guide and Loot Level Chill.

Third riddle: the keel in the sand
“A wanderer with neither foot nor wheel, when its journey ends, its keel hides in the sand.”
- Go to the wooden dock just east of Bywater village, near Old Noakes’ home.
- Look beside the pier for a small rowboat beached on the sandy bank.
- Interact with the sparkles beside the boat. Daisy appears to mark the discovery complete.
