How to redeem Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mystery Gifts
- Unlock Mystery Gift. Start the game and progress until the feature becomes available. Pokémon says this takes approximately one hour of play time. The Diancite announcement gives the timing and redemption instructions.
- Connect your console and link an account. Connect your Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 to the internet, then make sure the console user profile is linked to a Nintendo Account.
- Open the Mystery Gift menu. Choose Get via Internet for a gift distributed online, such as the announced Diancite or Mewtwonite X/Y stones. Follow the on-screen prompts to receive it.
- Use code entry for a serial-code offer. In Mystery Gift, choose the serial-code option and enter the code exactly as issued. Codes described in the cited offers are one-time use, so check that the offer is still valid before trying it.
- Save your game. Once the gift arrives, save. If it unlocks a side mission, you may need to meet the mission’s separate story requirements before you can use the reward.
The cited game-specific instructions do not say that a Nintendo Switch Online membership is required for these gifts.

What to do after claiming Diancite or Mewtwonite
Diancite
Claiming the stone is not the same as completing Diancie’s side mission. Finish the main story, take the Diancite to the Looker Bureau, and talk to Mimi to proceed. Pokémon’s Diancite notice describes the distribution and mission steps.
Mewtwonite X/Y
For the Mewtwo mission, complete the main story. After claiming both stones, head to Lysandre Café and then explore the deepest areas of Lysandre Labs. The Mewtwonite announcement outlines the gift and follow-up requirements.

Pokémon announced a UK and Ireland bundle, Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension, scheduled for release October 29, 2026. Its bonus is a one-time serial code for 100 Ultra Balls, with no expiration date stated in the announcement. The offer is tied to that bundle, not a general Mystery Gift distribution. The official announcement says internet access and a linked Nintendo Account are required, Mystery Gift unlocks after about one hour of play, and Nintendo Switch Online is not required for these items.

Before troubleshooting a missing gift
- Confirm you selected the right method: Get via Internet for an internet distribution, or serial-code entry for a code promotion.
- Check the offer’s territory and date window. A promotion announced for one region is not proof of availability elsewhere.
- Make sure Mystery Gift has unlocked, the console is online, and the active user profile is linked to a Nintendo Account.
- For a code, verify that the promotion has not expired and that the code has not already been used.
- If the gift was received but its mission is unavailable, check whether the notice requires completing the main story or visiting a specified location.
