If Marvel Rivals crashes as it starts, first note your platform, the exact error message, and where startup stops. On Windows PC, check the game’s minimum requirements, then use the fix that matches the symptom: update Windows and your graphics driver for a DirectX 12 error; verify or repair the game files for general crashes; review security software if it may be blocking the game; and follow the BIOS guidance only for the specific Intel CPU error described below. These steps are not guaranteed fixes. Console players should not follow Windows driver, BIOS, or file-repair instructions.
First, identify your platform and where the crash happens
Marvel Rivals is available through several platforms and storefronts, including Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Epic Store, and Loading Bay. The Windows-specific instructions in this guide apply to PC, not consoles. Record the exact error text and whether the game closes before its launcher, during loading, or after you reach the game.

Check whether your PC meets the published requirements
NetEase’s published PC requirements list the following baselines. Meeting them does not guarantee that the game will never crash, and falling below them does not by itself identify the cause of a particular crash.

Choose the troubleshooting step that matches the error
“DirectX 12 is not supported on your system”
- Confirm that Windows is 64-bit and version 1909 or newer.
- Update your graphics driver using the relevant GPU maker’s instructions.
- Compare your graphics card with the published minimum GPU requirements above.
The Epic Games FAQ cautions that some Intel Iris Xe and Intel UHD integrated graphics may not run the game properly. If your hardware and Windows version appear to meet the requirements but the error remains, contact official support rather than assuming a particular setting will resolve it.
General crash with no specific error
The Marvel Rivals official FAQ recommends updating drivers or repairing the game client when crashes or graphical errors occur. Start with its integrity-check or repair instructions for your storefront. If crashes continue, the FAQ points players to GPU Debug Mode and a clean graphics-driver reinstall.

- Use the official integrity-check or repair instructions for your game client.
- If the crash persists, follow the FAQ’s GPU Debug Mode guidance.
- Use the GPU manufacturer’s clean-install process to reinstall the current graphics driver, following the official FAQ’s directions.
Repair and driver options differ by storefront and hardware maker, so use the linked instructions rather than applying a generic command or third-party repair utility.
Launch or reconnect failure that may involve antivirus or firewall software
The official FAQ says security software may misidentify the game process in some launch or reconnect cases. Check whether your antivirus or firewall has blocked the game, then follow that security product’s instructions to allow the game executable and its storage path. The FAQ identifies the executable path as ~MarvelBinariesMarvel-Win64-Shipping.exe. Do not leave antivirus or firewall protection disabled; if you temporarily disable protection for diagnosis, restore it immediately.

“Out of Video Memory” on a 13th- or 14th-generation Intel CPU
This branch applies to the specific startup message on systems using 13th- or 14th-generation Intel CPUs; it is not a general fix for every crash. Marvel Rivals’ official release FAQ recommends updating to the latest BIOS according to Intel’s or the motherboard manufacturer’s guidance. If instability remains, contact the system maker, Intel support, or your retailer. Follow the instructions for your exact motherboard or computer model when updating BIOS.
Crash or compatibility problem with specialty controls
If connected, disconnect pedals, driving-game gearbox controls, or flight joysticks and try launching again. The official FAQ identifies these devices as possible sources of compatibility issues; this test is relevant only if you use such controls.

Slow or stuck loading
The official requirements recommend SSD installation for a better experience, but do not establish that buying an SSD will fix a launch crash. If the game remains stuck after following the official troubleshooting guidance, contact support.

If the official steps do not resolve the problem, use the crash-information instructions linked from the official FAQ and submit the requested details through the Customer Service section in the Feedback area on the official Discord/support route. Include your platform, Windows version if applicable, CPU and GPU, the exact error text, when the crash occurs, and the steps you have already tried. Support response times are not specified in the cited guidance.
