If Star Wars Outlaws keeps crashing on PC, first identify when it happens—on startup, when choosing New Game, or after playing for a while—then check the game’s update and whether your PC meets Ubisoft’s requirements. For crashes that appear tied to Ubisoft Connect, Ubisoft’s cache-reset procedure is a reasonable next step. There is no single documented fix for every crash, and a past Windows 11 24H2 issue does not explain every current problem.
Start with the crash timing
Record what happens immediately before the crash and whether the game closes to desktop, freezes first, or fails to start. These symptoms can point to different troubleshooting paths; they do not establish a cause by themselves.
- Crash on startup: note whether Ubisoft Connect opens, whether the game window appears, and any error message.
- Crash when starting a new game: Ubisoft fixed a specific New Game crash in Title Update 1.3.0, released October 24, 2024. Make sure your installed game is current; that historical fix does not diagnose other crashes. Ubisoft’s 1.3.0 notes
- Crash after some play time: note how long the game ran, what was happening in-game, and whether the issue began after a game, driver, or Windows update.
- Freeze followed by a crash: capture the error text if one appears and record whether the whole PC becomes unresponsive or only the game.
Check your game version and PC requirements
Use Ubisoft Connect to check for an available game update and confirm the installed version. The latest official update page located for this article is Title Update 1.7, dated June 24, 2025 (PC build 8779316); its listed changes focus on gameplay and UI, not a blanket resolution of PC crashes. Compare your system with the specific resolution and graphics preset you use. Ubisoft’s PC requirements list Windows 10 or Windows 11 with DirectX 12, 16 GB of dual-channel RAM, and 65 GB of SSD storage. Its minimum-tier CPU choices are an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600; listed GPUs are a GeForce GTX 1660 with 6 GB, Radeon RX 5600 XT with 6 GB, or Intel Arc A750 with 8 GB and Resizable BAR enabled. For its recommended 1080p/60 high target, Ubisoft lists a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti or Radeon RX 6700 XT. Check Ubisoft’s full tier table for the rest of the CPU, GPU, and preset combinations. Try Ubisoft Connect’s cache procedure for launcher-related trouble
Ubisoft says clearing Ubisoft Connect PC’s cache can help resolve some technical issues. This is a launcher troubleshooting step, not a guaranteed fix for a game crash.
- Log out of Ubisoft Connect PC, then fully close the application.
- At the default locations below, rename each
cachefolder—for example, tocache_backup:C:Program Files (x86)UbisoftUbisoft Game LaunchercacheC:Users<Username>AppDataLocalUbisoft Game Launchercache
- Restart Ubisoft Connect. It will create new cache folders automatically.
If your launcher is installed somewhere else, follow the current instructions on Ubisoft’s cache support page rather than renaming folders at guessed locations.

Check whether Windows 11 24H2 is relevant
Ubisoft acknowledged an issue affecting PC players after the Windows 11 24H2 update in its October 24, 2024 Title Update 1.3.0 notes. On November 21, 2024, it said it had deployed a temporary 1.4.1 hotfix for affected players and warned that performance issues might occur while it worked on a more permanent fix. That history makes 24H2 relevant if your crash began around that update, but it does not establish that 24H2 is the cause on every system or that the same issue persists on your current Windows build. Prepare a useful report if the crash continues
Ubisoft’s published information does not provide one general diagnosis for crashes across different timings, hardware, and storefronts. Before contacting Ubisoft support, collect the details that distinguish your case:
- When the crash occurs and the steps that reproduce it, if known.
- The exact error message, or whether the game freezes or closes without one.
- Your Windows version and build, CPU, GPU, and graphics-driver version.
- The game build shown in the launcher and whether you use Ubisoft Connect or another storefront.
- Whether the problem began after a game, Windows, or driver update.
Use Ubisoft’s support channel to report the issue with those details. Avoid changing BIOS settings, disabling security software, or buying replacement hardware as first steps: the official information cited here does not establish any of those as general crash fixes.
