What kind of game is Kentum?
Kentum is a single-player survival-crafting and exploration game with simulation and action-adventure elements. That premise links the game’s two main activities: venturing out to learn what the altered world contains, then using those discoveries to sustain and expand the home base. The listing describes systems and intended structure, but does not establish how demanding or well-balanced they feel in play.
How exploration and survival fit together
The world is presented as a changing environment with different biomes, plants, animals, minerals, and climate events. Exploration is not only about finding materials: Kent classifies flora, fauna, and minerals, with that knowledge tied to surviving seasonal conditions. This creates a loop in which scouting and identification feed into the practical work of staying alive.

Food is another part of that survival loop. The store description lists hunger, hunting, recipes, cooking, farms, and vivariums. It also names a hoverboard, hang glider, and grappling hook as traversal equipment, suggesting that movement and access to new areas are part of the expedition side of the game. The listing does not specify how these tools handle or when they become available, so their feel and progression are questions for a hands-on review rather than conclusions that can be drawn from the feature list alone.
Base-building and automation
Gathered materials are processed into resources and used to build production systems. The intended payoff is automation: the base can generate resources while Kent is out exploring, reducing the need for every expedition to end with a return trip solely to keep production moving. The design therefore connects preparation at home with the freedom to range farther afield.

That is a promising structure for players who enjoy planning a production chain as much as collecting materials, but the available listing does not show how much construction depth, management overhead, or automation complexity the finished game offers. Those are key points to assess in play, rather than assume from the presence of automated production.
Food spoilage and a post-launch change
A Steam Community search result for a developer update titled “Spoiling You with a New Update (But Not Your Food)” is dated March 4, without a year in the result. It says refrigerator technology becomes available earlier in progression and describes a change to which items decay and spoil. This indicates that spoilage rules were adjusted after launch, but it does not establish the update year or the current decay behavior of every item. Check the current Steam update history for exact mechanics before planning around particular foods.
