At the original Phase 3 launch, Season of Discovery gave characters levels 40–49 a 50% experience bonus through Discoverer’s Delight; characters through level 39 received a 100% bonus. Nightmare Incursions added another way to earn experience while gaining Emerald Wardens reputation. These are historical launch-era rules, not confirmation of what is active on a realm today.
What changed in Phase 3
Phase 3 launched on April 4, 2024, raised the level cap to 50, and let characters progress from level 41 to 50. Blizzard also previewed up to 10 additional talent points and a new 20-player Sunken Temple raid. Blizzard’s Phase 3 launch announcement and March 25, 2024 Phase 3 preview set out the phase context.

Discoverer’s Delight: the launch-era leveling bonus
At Phase 3 launch, Discoverer’s Delight increased experience gained by 100% through level 39 and by 50% for levels 40–49. An innkeeper in a capital city could toggle the buff, so players could turn it off if they preferred to level without it. The launch-era buff details describe those values.
Do not treat those figures as a live status report. Blizzard later announced a different catch-up snapshot: 150% through level 39 and 100% at levels 40–49. That later announcement describes a subsequent state, not the Phase 3 launch values. The applicable bonus depends on the date and current official notices; the figures should not be blended into one set of rules. Blizzard’s later catch-up announcement gives that separate snapshot.

Nightmare Incursions: an alternative activity
Nightmare Incursions were a new PvE event for characters level 25 and above. They offered experience and Emerald Wardens reputation, making them an option for players who wanted to pursue both progression and faction standing. The available evidence does not establish that Incursions were faster than ordinary leveling for every class, faction, group, or play session, so choose them for the activity and dual rewards rather than a guaranteed XP-per-hour advantage. Do not count on repeatable item turn-ins for experience
Under the Phase 3 rule reported at launch, repeated turn-ins of Wastewander Water Pouches, Marks of Honor, and Troll Tribal Necklaces no longer awarded experience. They therefore were not reliable repeatable leveling shortcuts. Contemporary Phase 3 coverage notes the change.

Choosing a route without a false “fastest” promise
There is no supported universal fastest route or comparative XP-per-hour figure. For a character within Incursion eligibility, decide whether the Incursion gameplay and Emerald Wardens reputation are worth doing alongside experience. Otherwise, continue with ordinary leveling activities while using the bonus confirmed for the relevant date. Since these details are historical, check Blizzard’s current announcements for the state that applies to your realm before planning around a particular buff or event.
