No. Monster Hunter: World does not support cross-save or cross-progression between PC/Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Capcom says save data is unique to each platform and cannot be transferred between those versions.
Can you transfer a save between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox?
No. Capcom’s cross-play and cross-progression FAQ, dated August 24, 2022, says that save data is unique to each platform and cannot be transferred between the PC, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One versions. Moving to another of those platforms means using a separate save rather than continuing the same hunter’s progress.
Is cross-save the same as cross-play?
No. Cross-save lets you carry progress between platforms; cross-play lets players on different platforms play together. Monster Hunter: World supports neither between PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Capcom notes that each version has cross-region global multiplayer servers, but those are not shared cross-platform servers: players still need to be on the same platform version to play together.
Do Steam Cloud or PlayStation Plus backups let you move progress?
No. Cloud backups can help restore a save within its platform, but they do not convert or transfer it to another platform.

- Steam: Capcom says the save is stored on the PC’s local drive and/or Steam Cloud, not on a Capcom-side server. Its Steam save recovery guidance is about recovering that platform’s data.
- PlayStation 4: Capcom describes saves as stored locally and/or in PlayStation Plus cloud storage. Its PS4 save recovery guidance concerns restoring a PS4 save, not transferring it to PC or Xbox.
Can you move a Monster Hunter: World save to another Steam account?
No. Capcom’s Monster Hunter: World Steam FAQ, updated August 9, 2018, says saves and hunters are tied to the Steam account that created them and cannot be transferred to another account.

Plan to start with a separate save on the new platform. Capcom’s support answer addresses PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One; it does not establish a transfer route between those versions. Capcom’s official guidance also does not endorse third-party save-editing tools, so their safety, support, or ability to transfer progress should not be assumed.
