No. SUPERHOT VR is listed for PS4 and the original PlayStation VR headset, and Sony says PS VR2 cannot play PS VR content. The PS4 game’s ability to run on a PS5 does not make it compatible with a PS VR2 headset.
What the official listings say
The US PlayStation Store lists SUPERHOT VR as a PS4 game. Its listing requires a PlayStation VR headset, PlayStation Camera, and PlayStation Move motion controller; it supports two Move controllers. Sony’s compatibility guidance states that “PS VR2 can’t play PS VR content.” Sony’s PS VR2 game and console compatibility guidance and the US PlayStation Store listing for SUPERHOT VR establish that the listed version is for the original headset, not PS VR2.
Why PS5 compatibility does not change the answer
The Store page says the PS4 version may be playable on PS5, potentially after a system software update, and notes that some PS4 features may be absent. That refers to running the PS4 game on a PS5 console; it does not override the separate headset restriction. A PS VR2 headset is not a substitute for the original PlayStation VR hardware when playing this PS VR title.
Is there a PS VR2 upgrade?
Sony says cross-buy or upgrades may be offered for some PS VR games on a title-by-title basis, at each developer’s discretion. - A PS4 and the original PlayStation VR headset.
- A PlayStation Camera.
- PlayStation Move motion controllers; the Store listing says two are supported.
The PlayStation Store listing warns that VR games may cause motion sickness for some players and says PlayStation VR is not for children under 12.
