“Multibinder” can mean different things. GBC uses MultiBind as the name of a range of manual machines that punch and bind documents; the word can also refer more generally to filing hardware that holds pages already punched. The distinction matters: a binding machine makes a document, while a binder mechanism fits pages or a cover system.
What does “multibinder” mean?
There is no single specification shared by every product called a multibinder. In a product search, the term may point to GBC MultiBind binding machines. In filing-supply catalogs, related mechanisms include ring binders, lever-arch mechanisms, multi-ring hardware and clips. These are different product categories, not interchangeable names.
If you need to punch and bind loose sheets, compare binding machines. If you need to hold pages that are already punched—or repair or assemble a binder—identify the filing mechanism and match its dimensions and hole pattern.
What does the GBC MultiBind 320 do?
GBC describes the MultiBind 320 as a manual machine that makes comb- or wire-bound documents and includes a four-hole punch for filing. Its product page lists these model-specific specifications; the page does not state a publication year, and the figures are manufacturer claims rather than independent test results:

Choose by the binding style you want, the document size and thickness, and the compatible consumables—not just the model number. Before buying, check the manufacturer’s current regional specifications and whether the machine and the required supplies are available where you live; the product descriptions do not establish live stock or pricing.
What if you mean a binder mechanism?
A filing mechanism holds pages or a document cover; it does not necessarily punch or bind the pages. Supplier terminology distinguishes round-ring and D-ring mechanisms, lever-arch hardware, multi-hole mechanisms, lever-clips, clipboard mechanisms and two-hole spring clips. Each type has its own fit requirements.

For a replacement mechanism or compatible binder, check the relevant measurements and format before ordering:
- Hole pattern: Match the number of holes and their spacing to the pages or mounting points already in use.
- Mechanism dimensions: Check the mechanism’s length and where it mounts.
- Capacity: For ring styles, check ring diameter; for other mechanisms, check the usable straight-edge length, clamping thickness or usable filing thickness as applicable.
- Refill compatibility: Look for an explicit compatibility statement. A similar size or product name alone does not confirm a fit.
The LAN CHYN mechanism and binding-method guide sets out these categories and fit checks. A separate Foshan Firstly product catalog lists ring-binder mechanisms, multi-ring binders, lever-arch mechanisms and clips; that range of categories does not make one mechanism suitable for every binder.

What the published specifications do—and do not—tell you
GBC’s pages describe features and maximum capacities for named models. They do not provide independent performance comparisons, current retail prices, inventory, or a market-wide specification for the word “multibinder.” Treat the listed capacities as model claims and confirm the regional product details and consumable fit for the machine you are considering.
