How does the calendar work?
The story follows a day-and-night cycle, and player actions move time forward. Quests, dungeon exploration, spending time with Followers, and developing virtues all compete for calendar time. Xbox Wire describes the cycle as progressing through your choices and actions, and PlayStation’s game features page also outlines the time-based structure.
Choose what matters to you rather than trying to fit every possible activity into a single schedule. Some guides recommend completing a dungeon in one day or optimizing activity order, but those are approaches for players seeking efficiency, not proof of a required route. Make a plan around the quests and character interactions you care about, then accept that another activity may have to wait.

What resources should you keep an eye on?
Pay attention to MP and MAG as you explore and fight. MP-restoring supplies can be useful to have on hand, while MAG is spent on Archetype and skill-related needs. Can you change the difficulty after starting?

Should you try the demo first?
If you are undecided, the free prologue demo lets you begin the story, and its save can carry into the full game.
