To invite a friend in Monster Hunter Wilds, open Start Menu > Communication > Member List, select the player, and send a Link Party invitation. Link Party members can be in different lobbies; when one starts a quest, the others receive an invitation to join.
Invite a friend to your Link Party
- Find or add the player. Open Start Menu > Communication > Member List. The official manual says you can use the Member List to send a Hunter Friend request.
- Send the Link Party invitation. Select your friend in the Member List and choose the Link Party invitation option. The official community explanation describes inviting a hunter on your friend list to a Link Party.
- Start a quest. When a Link Party member starts a quest, other party members receive an invitation. The party works even when its members are in separate lobbies.
Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds Community Team explained on July 2, 2025: “Link Party: This can be used in the same lobby, or even when you’re in different ones!” The team also says party members receive quest invitations when a member starts a quest. Official community update.

Choose how to meet up and hunt
| Method | Use it when | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Link Party | You want a recurring friend group, even across separate lobbies. | Members receive an invitation when a party member starts a quest. After the quest, players return to their lobby. |
| Same lobby | You want to meet socially or join quests posted by people in the lobby. | Join the same lobby, then post or join one another’s quests. |
| Lobby ID search | You need to reach a specific lobby, including a private one. | Search using the Lobby ID. The archived official manual places the ID at Start Menu > Communication > Member List > Lobby Members. |
| SOS Flare | You need help with a particular hunt or want to join a hunt in progress. | Search for SOS hunts or fire a flare during a hunt to request help. |
| Environment Link | You want to explore and hunt in a host’s locale conditions. | The host’s locale environment is locked for the group. |
Join a friend’s lobby
To meet in the same lobby, search for a lobby your Hunter Friend has joined or enter its Lobby ID. According to the archived copy of the official manual, you can find the Lobby ID through Start Menu > Communication > Member List > Lobby Members. Once together, players can post and join each other’s quests.
Set up cross-platform play
Monster Hunter Wilds supports cross-platform play. The archived official manual says every player in a cross-platform group must have crossplay enabled, and Link Party members must use the same crossplay setting. Crossplay is enabled or disabled as a whole; it cannot be limited selectively by platform.

- Wild New Adventure – Monster Hunter Wilds follows the story of a special Research Commission investigating the Forbidden Lands. Fully voiced for the first time in the series, the hunter is joined in their journey by a colorful cast of characters, including a Palico partner, Guild-appointed Handler Alma, trusty smithy Gemma, and the mysterious child Nata. Together, the team ventures into an unexplored new frontier where surprises await around every corner.
- A Living World – The Forbidden Lands spans multiple biomes with dynamic identities, such as the Windward Plains and Scarlet Forest, where the ecosystems shift between vibrant seasons brimming with life, and unforgiving climates where monsters fight over limited resources. Changes in the landscape will impact the creatures that live there and push hunters to adapt as well.
- New Monsters and Wildlife – Monster Hunter Wilds features a variety of new creatures, ranging from herds of small species to large monsters – some of which roam the Forbidden Lands in packs. Every creature hunters encounter in the wild has carved out a special place in its habitat and possesses unique attacks and behaviors.
- Players can also now ride atop the Seikret, an agile new mount enabling hunters to traverse difficult terrain, perform actions like sharpening weapons on the move, and switch between two weapons while out on hunts!
- Evolved Hunting Action – The series’ acclaimed action-packed gameplay is back and more exciting than ever! Hunters can look forward to tracking down monsters with an array of new moves, special abilities, equipment, and more. The action also now flows seamlessly from cutscenes to gameplay, resulting in a new level of immersion.
- At the Title Screen, open Options > Game Settings > Crossplay.
- Make sure every player has crossplay enabled and that all Link Party members have the same setting.
- If you still cannot meet up, try searching for the friend’s lobby by Lobby ID.
The manual says the Crossplay setting cannot be changed from in-game Options after you select save data and start the game. It also describes a Platform Permissions option that can restrict quest participation to all platforms or only the player’s platform; this option depends on crossplay being enabled.

- Confirm that you selected the friend in Start Menu > Communication > Member List and sent a Link Party invitation.
- For a cross-platform Link Party, check that crossplay is enabled for everyone and that everyone uses the same crossplay setting.
- Try joining the same lobby by searching for the friend’s lobby or entering its Lobby ID.
- Check Platform Permissions if a player can reach the lobby but cannot join a quest.
Capcom’s support page points players to the online manual, but the manual link listed there was unavailable when checked. The menu paths and crossplay details above come from an archived copy of Capcom’s manual, so confirm the labels in-game if they differ. Capcom Support.

- Hunt giant nature-infused bests – Survive their attacks, learn from their behaviors, and use your Karakuri and your weapons in combination to cut these creatures down to size.
- Craft your hunting grounds – You are the only one in Azuma able to wield the Karakuri technology.
- Hunt in a pack, or be a lone wolf – In WILD HEARTS you can face the Kemono alone or unite with up to two friends (or other players) to stalk and hunt your prey.
- Gear up to hunt, hunt to gear up – Create your character, then gather materials from each hunt and build an array of armor and weapons.
After Title Update 2, Capcom’s July 2, 2025 community update described copying Lobby IDs and Hunter IDs from the Start Menu for Steam players. That specific convenience detail is for Steam and should not be assumed to apply on other platforms.
