Blizzard noted that select features would become available only after the weekly reset during launch week. That was a launch-week qualification, not a statement about current availability.
How to start Midnight and reach its dungeons
Begin the story in Eversong Woods

Choose how to unlock dungeons
Dungeon quests appear as you progress through the leveling story. Alternatively, Blizzard said all dungeons become available at level 90 even if you have not completed those quests. This is the access guidance in the launch notice; check current patch notes for later changes.
Unlock the Haranir
To pursue the Haranir allied race, take the starting quest in Silvermoon and complete the Harandar zone level-up campaign, according to Blizzard’s launch guidance.

What did players need to prepare before launch?
Blizzard’s February 9, 2026 preparation guide focused on rewards that would become unobtainable or harder to earn after Midnight launched. Those were pre-launch deadlines, not open opportunities now.
- Heroic Dimensius: The Royal Voidwing reward was due to become unobtainable after launch.
- Mythic Manaforge Omega: The Unbound Star-Eater mount’s drop rate was due to be significantly reduced.
- Twilight Ascension: The event in Twilight Highlands was scheduled for January 27 through March 2, 2026, for characters level 10 and above. Blizzard said Twilight Blade Insignias would convert to Resonance Crystals after launch.
These are historical details from Blizzard’s preparation guide. It does not establish whether any reward is obtainable through later content or changed mechanics; check current in-game information before planning around a specific reward.
What changed before Midnight?
The pre-expansion update introduced a range of systems and class changes that returning players may encounter. Blizzard’s January 2026 announcement listed:
- The Devourer Demon Hunter specialization and Void Elf Demon Hunters.
- Class combat updates and a stat and item squish.
- UI and transmogrification updates.
- PvP training grounds.
- Housing, Endeavors, and a pre-expansion event.

Which Midnight preparation advice is still useful?
The time-sensitive checklist was about finishing rewards before the expansion launched; its dates have passed. For a player starting now, the practical route is to enter the story in Eversong Woods, follow the zone campaign, and use level 90 dungeon access if you want to skip the associated leveling quests. If you are returning after a break, review the current game’s quest log and patch notes before relying on older launch instructions.
Blizzard also announced Housing Early Access beginning December 2, 2025, for players who had purchased any Midnight edition, including joining a neighborhood, choosing a house, and customizing it.
