Minecraft 1.21 Update Release Time: What Is the Update Release Time?
Mojang announced on May 30, 2024, that the Tricky Trials Update would arrive on June 13 for both editions. Its announcement gave a release date, not a time of day. Mojang’s release-date announcement therefore confirms when the update launched, but not an exact hour or minute.
A Beebom article published on June 13, 2024 also noted that Mojang had not announced an exact time. It offered a possible release window based on previous major updates; that was a third-party estimate, not a Mojang schedule or guaranteed launch time.
Did Java and Bedrock get the update on the same day?
Yes. Mojang’s announcement included both Minecraft: Java Edition and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition in the June 13, 2024 release date. The official Java Edition 1.21 release notes identify the update as Tricky Trials, and Mojang’s Bedrock changelog is dated June 13, 2024.

How to get the update
Java Edition
Mojang’s Java release notes instructed players to open the Minecraft Launcher, select Latest Release, and click Play to install the release. Those launcher instructions apply to Java Edition.
Bedrock Edition
Bedrock instructions vary by device and platform. The official changelog confirms the June 13 release, but does not provide one universal installation path for every Bedrock device; check the update mechanism for the platform you play on.

Tricky Trials is a past release, not an upcoming update. Mojang’s current update timeline places it in June 2024 and says game updates and game drops release on the same day for Java and Bedrock, with Vibrant Visuals listed as an exception. That general timeline does not establish a specific clock time for the 1.21 launch.
