Mojang also issued a public condolence message. The loading-screen image is documented as a historical tribute; the available sources do not confirm whether it remains available today.
What tribute did Minecraft add for Technoblade?
PC Gamer reported on July 4, 2022, that the Minecraft Java Edition loading screen had been updated with a crowned pig. The design was a visual nod to Technoblade’s crowned pig avatar. The report describes the image as a quiet tribute, rather than a separate game mode or purchasable item.
Minecraft’s official account had posted a condolence message on July 1, according to the same report:
“We have been trying to find the words, but all of us here at Minecraft are heartbroken over the loss of Technoblade. He meant so much to our community and brought so much joy. He will be missed dearly. 🐷👑🗡️”

What does “Technoblade never dies” refer to?
“Technoblade never dies” appeared in the title of a Minecraft Feedback community request posted July 1, 2022: “Add a Splash text ‘Technoblade never dies’ as a memorial.” It was fan-proposed wording, not evidence by itself that Mojang had added the phrase to the game.

A July 5 post on Reddit’s r/Technoblade said the organizer had received private confirmation from a Mojang representative that the splash text was being added. That is community reporting, not an official public release note. The sources establish neither the exact version in which the text appeared nor its availability across editions.

The documented crowned-pig image was a Java Edition loading-screen tribute, but the available sources do not establish its present-day availability or permanence. A Minecraft Feedback post from August 2022 said its author no longer saw the pig in the launcher version they used. That individual account is historical context, not an official compatibility record or proof of what players see now.

Accordingly, the evidence supports the original Java Edition tribute and the dated community reports about splash text, but not a claim that either feature is currently visible to every player.
