Minecraft’s Stranger Things crossover is a paid Marketplace adventure for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, but Mojang says it cannot be delivered on Nintendo Switch “at this time.” The Xbox US store lists it for $8.99, though that regional price may change. Mojang also specifies a 6 GB RAM minimum for mobile devices.
What is the Minecraft Stranger Things crossover?
It is downloadable Marketplace content, not a standalone game. Mojang describes an adventure through Hawkins with character-specific abilities and quests: Eleven uses telekinesis, Dr. Brenner accesses lab panels, Suzie solves codes, Eddie leads a D&D campaign, and Vecna controls minds. Players can switch characters and team up with friends in multiplayer. The official description also features bikes and Hopper’s car. Minecraft’s official Stranger Things DLC page says Minecraft: Bedrock Edition is required and sold separately.
Why can’t I get the Minecraft Stranger Things DLC on Switch?
Mojang’s official page states: “With this in mind, we are unable to deliver the Stranger Things DLC on the Nintendo Switch system at this time.” The wording confirms a current limitation, but does not explain its technical cause or say whether it will change. Buying Minecraft or an accessory for Switch will not unlock this DLC there while that limitation remains.
Is the DLC available on Switch 2?
That is not confirmed for this particular DLC. Nintendo announced that Minecraft for Nintendo Switch 2 would arrive October 27, 2026, and said players could enjoy supported Marketplace content there. That general statement does not establish Stranger Things DLC compatibility. Check for a title-specific update before purchasing on Switch 2. Nintendo’s announcement gives no specific confirmation for this crossover.

What does it cost, and what do you need?
The Xbox US store listing shows $8.99 and a December 1, 2025 release date. The price is for the US listing and may change; check the Marketplace or relevant store in your region for the current price and availability. The Xbox listing identifies Minecraft for Windows as playable there, but it is not a complete compatibility list for every platform.

- Mobile: Mojang says 6 GB RAM or higher is required.
- Platform: Verify the DLC’s listing for your device before buying; the available official information does not provide a full device-by-device compatibility matrix.
Is the Hellfire Club T-shirt item still free?
No. Mojang’s page says the Hellfire Club T-shirt character creator item was free until January 25, 2026 at 10 a.m. PT and available for purchase afterward. That free period has ended, and the page does not establish its current price.
