For a sky-island survival adventure, try The Aether; for bee-themed exploration, try The Bumblezone; and for two contrasting realms, try Blue Skies. The Aether II is a separate sequel project with its own expanded take on the Aether. Before installing any of them, match the mod’s exact Minecraft version, loader, dependencies and multiplayer setup to your game.

The Aether: skyland survival with dungeons
The Aether is more than a change of scenery: its project page describes a survival progression built around new materials, utility blocks, mounts and dungeon challenges. It names Skyroot, Holystone, Zanite and Gravitite materials, plus the Altar, Freezer and Incubator utility blocks. An accessory system and Moa flying mounts add further options to exploration and equipment.
The project describes three dungeons—Bronze, Silver and Gold—each with a boss and loot. Its portal is a Glowstone frame activated with a water bucket. The Aether page says the mod is multiplayer compatible. Its listed Minecraft 1.21.1 releases include Fabric dated October 3, 2025, and NeoForge dated September 28, 2025; these are dates shown on the project page, not a guarantee of current support. The Aether II: a distinct sequel project
The Aether II describes a renewed and expanded dimension, with new biomes, mobs, structures, native materials and survival content. The project lists equipment abilities, armor set bonuses, weapon damage types, flying mounts and dungeon loot among its mechanics. Its Traveller’s Guidebook is intended to support discovery, explain gear slots and lore, track progression and help plan routes.

These are features described by the project, not independently tested gameplay claims. Treat The Aether II as a separate project when checking compatibility: the original Aether’s listed releases do not establish which Minecraft versions or loaders the sequel supports. Review The Aether II’s own project page before installing.
The Bumblezone: explore a bee-nest world
The Bumblezone turns the inside of a bee nest into a dimension, with bee-themed blocks and structures and bee armor to obtain. Bees can become hostile if you take or damage honey-related resources, making resource gathering part of the exploration challenge. The project directs players to its advancements tab for guidance on entering.

Modrinth lists support for Minecraft Java 1.21–1.21.1, Forge and NeoForge, as well as client and server support. The project page also links to a Fabric version separately, so check that variant’s exact game-version compatibility rather than assuming it matches the listed Forge and NeoForge support. Check The Bumblezone’s Modrinth page for the relevant version and loader.
Blue Skies: two realms with different climates
Blue Skies adds Everbright and Everdawn. Its project page describes Everbright as bright, snowy and cold, while Everdawn is darker and warm. Both realms have two dungeons, and the Blue Journal offers an in-game guide whose pages unlock as you progress.

To reach the realms, trade with the Gatekeeper to obtain a Zeal Lighter, then use it to activate a portal frame. The project page says Blue Skies requires Structure Gel API and directs players to a recommended Forge version. Verify the current Minecraft version, loader and dependency instructions on the page before starting a world. See the Blue Skies project page for current requirements.
Check compatibility before installing
Dimension mods can be incompatible with a game simply because the Minecraft version or mod loader differs. A project’s broad description is not enough: check the release file and its requirements for the exact version you intend to play.

- Confirm your Minecraft edition and version. The Bumblezone compatibility noted above is for Minecraft Java 1.21–1.21.1; do not treat it as support for every Minecraft edition or release.
- Match the mod loader. Choose a file for your installed loader, such as Fabric, Forge or NeoForge. Do not assume that a project’s separate loader variants share the same game-version support.
- Install required dependencies. Blue Skies requires Structure Gel API according to its project page. Check the selected release’s dependency instructions as well.
- Check multiplayer installation requirements. The Aether page describes multiplayer compatibility; Bumblezone lists client and server support. Those statements are specific to those projects and do not establish the requirements for every mod or server setup.
- Use the project’s own entry instructions. Follow the listed portal or advancement guidance for the mod and version you installed; do not assume all dimensions use a Nether-style portal.
How to find other dimension mods
CurseForge’s dimension category is useful for discovery, but its labels include projects that change the Nether or End as well as mods that add separate worlds. Read each project description to confirm whether it creates a genuinely separate dimension and check its supported versions and loaders before choosing it. Browse CurseForge’s dimension category.
