Mountain Dew’s documented World of Warcraft collaborations include two separate promotions: a 2024 U.S. retail tie-in featuring Game Fuel and Doritos XXL packaging, and a Discord Quest campaign described in a later case study. The sources do not establish a new 2026 announcement or confirm that the limited-time products are still available.
What was included in the 2024 retail promotion?
In an announcement published October 25, 2024, Xbox Wire said Mountain Dew Game Fuel Citrus Cherry and Citrus Blackberry would receive World of Warcraft branding. The announced formats included 20-ounce bottles and 12-packs of each flavor. The flavors were described as limited-time products scheduled to begin reaching U.S. shelves November 4, 2024. Xbox Wire’s announcement is a historical launch reference, not confirmation of current stock.
The same announcement covered Doritos XXL bags featuring World of Warcraft: The War Within, including Cool Ranch and Tangy BBQ varieties. It also described a broader promotion involving Rockstar Energy Drink and rewards for several Xbox games; those parts were not the same product as the Mountain Dew flavors.
How was the Discord Quest different?
A separate Discord campaign case study describes Mountain Dew launching a Quest in collaboration with World of Warcraft. The digital activation offered players an exclusive in-game item as an incentive. It should not be treated as the same launch as the 2024 retail packaging announcement.

Are the World of Warcraft products still available?
The announcement gave a U.S. start window for limited-time flavors in November 2024, but the cited sources do not verify present-day inventory, current listings, or whether the branded packaging remains on sale. Check a retailer’s current listing and the package itself before buying; a listing for a standard flavor does not establish that it has the World of Warcraft design.
