How many people played ULTRAKILL at once?
SteamDB lists ULTRAKILL’s all-time peak at 71,785 concurrent players, recorded on February 25, 2026, the day Layer 8: Fraud released. That is a Steam concurrent-player figure—not total players, sales, or a count across every platform. SteamDB’s ULTRAKILL charts provide the dated record.
In its March 3 Fraud Hotfix #1 announcement, the ULTRAKILL developer and publisher team rounded the figure up, saying: “We had nearly 72,000 people playing the game at once.” The announcement also characterized the audience as nearly triple the launch audiences for Layer 7: Violence and ULTRA_REVAMP; that comparison is the developer’s characterization, not an independently quantified comparison here. What is the ULTRAKILL Fraud update?
Layer 8: Fraud is an update to ULTRAKILL, a Windows retro-style first-person shooter developed by Arsi “Hakita” Patala and published by New Blood Interactive. The game launched on Steam on September 3, 2020. Its fast-paced combat combines shooter influences with style-scoring mechanics, according to SteamDB’s game listing.
