What did the leak predict?
In a report published December 22, 2024, Notebookcheck said a cryptic Reddit hint attributed to u/MeguminShiro pointed to Wizard of Legend as the next Epic Games Store Mystery Game. The title had not yet appeared on the store when the report went up, so it was a prediction—not an official Epic announcement. Notebookcheck also noted that the account’s December 21 prediction had named the wrong game; TerraTech was the actual giveaway that day. Was Wizard of Legend actually free?
Yes. Notebookcheck’s follow-up and Video Games Chronicle’s contemporaneous report both identified Wizard of Legend as the revealed December 22 giveaway. When did the giveaway end?
The offer was available to add to an Epic Games library until 16:00 UTC on December 23, 2024. Video Games Chronicle reported the deadline as 16:00 GMT, the same time zone offset in December. The claim window is over; the historic giveaway does not mean the game is currently free.

How to find Epic’s current free games
For present promotions, check Epic Games Store’s Free Games page. Epic describes the store as offering a free game every week, but the titles displayed there change over time. Wizard of Legend was the December 2024 offer, not a current claim based on that historical promotion.
What kind of game was it?
Notebookcheck described Wizard of Legend as a roguelike and noted local multiplayer and gamepad support. A controller can be useful for local multiplayer, but the reporting does not establish that one is required or specify a particular compatible model.
