When did New World stop getting updates?
Amazon Games says Season 10 and the Nighthaven update were the final content release for New World on PC and consoles. The company announced that decision on October 28, 2025, saying continued development of new content was no longer sustainable. Amazon Games’ announcement described Nighthaven as the game’s final content release.
That does not mean the servers shut down at the same time. Amazon’s later update set a separate date for the end of playability: January 31, 2027.
New World shutdown and purchase timeline

The January 2026 announcement is the current timeline: it replaced the earlier, less specific plan to keep the game running through 2026.

Yes. If you purchased the game before it was delisted, Amazon says you can continue playing until January 31, 2027, and reinstall your copy. After the announced shutdown, the game will be inaccessible on all platforms. Amazon Games’ shutdown update
New players cannot buy it through the usual storefronts now that it has been delisted. The Steam listing also says a persistent internet connection is required and there is no offline mode, so the scheduled server closure means there is no offline version to fall back on. What support and events remain?
Amazon says it will not release new content or perform further server merges during the remaining service period. It will monitor bugs and performance, but that is not a promise of a particular fix. World bosses and bonus weeks are scheduled to continue until the servers close. Amazon Games’ update
