| Color | Category | Words |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow | Types of pools | INFINITY, KIDDIE, KIDNEY, OLYMPIC |
| Green | NATO phonetic alphabet | BRAVO, DELTA, GOLF, LIMA |
| Blue | Ford models | BRONCO, FIESTA, MUSTANG, PINTO |
| Purple | ___ SEAL | ELEPHANT, GREAT, NAVY, VACUUM |
Why the bean grouping doesn’t work
PINTO, KIDNEY, LIMA, and NAVY can look like a set of bean varieties, but Connections splits them among the actual categories: PINTO is a Ford model, KIDNEY is a pool type, LIMA is a NATO codeword, and NAVY completes “Navy SEAL.” GOLF may also pull attention toward Volkswagen, but here it belongs with the NATO phonetic alphabet.
