Need the NYT Strands hints, spangram and answers for Sunday, January 26? The puzzle is game #329, with the theme clue “Ore so they say.” A gentle nudge is minerals; the spangram is PURE METAL. The full answer list is below, so stop before the spoiler section if you want to solve more of the board yourself.

Hints for the January 26 Strands puzzle

  • Theme clue: “Ore so they say.”
  • Theme nudge: Think of minerals.
  • Spangram hint: Think of vital elements. It starts at the top edge in the third column and ends at the bottom edge in the fourth column.

Strands asks you to trace theme-related words through adjacent letters—vertically, horizontally or diagonally—without reusing a cell. The spangram crosses the board between opposite sides and helps reveal the theme. If you find three valid words that are not answers, the game gives a hint by highlighting letters in a hidden answer. For a fuller explanation of the game mechanics, see the 2026 FUN paper on NYT games.

Answers for Sunday, January 26, 2025
