NYT Connections: Sports Edition puzzle #277 is from Friday, June 27, 2025. Its four groups cover team symbols, lacrosse terms, NHL teams with singular nicknames, and teams Deion Sanders has played for or coached. Hints appear first; the complete answers are below the spoiler warning.
Hints for Connections Sports Edition #277
Use these from least to most revealing if you want to solve the archived puzzle before seeing the groups:
- Yellow: Visual identity.
- Green: Sport-specific.
- Blue: Cool competitors.
- Purple: Prime locations.
Parade’s June 27, 2025 puzzle coverage lists these hints and the solution. A second page reproducing Mashable-style coverage reports the same puzzle groups.
Tips to solve Connections #277
- Start with the most concrete sport-specific terms. The lacrosse group contains four terms associated with the sport.
- Look for a shared kind of referent, not just a broad topic: one group is made up of NHL team names, while another consists of terms for a team’s symbol.
- For a harder group, check whether names can be linked by a particular person. The final set concerns teams connected to Deion Sanders.
- Before submitting a set, test whether each word fits the same relationship. The official game instructions, as quoted by Parade, ask players to “group sports terms that share a common thread.”
