The July 31 Nintendo Direct was a past Partner Showcase, not a forthcoming event. Nintendo presented upcoming games from publishing partners for both Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch.
What was the July 31 Nintendo Direct?
Nintendo’s archive identifies the event as “Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase 7.31.2025.” Nintendo of America announced it for July 31, 2025, at 6 a.m. PT, describing a broadcast of roughly 25 minutes about upcoming partner-published games for Switch 2 and Switch. Nintendo’s Direct archive records the event; Nintendo of America’s event video gives the original timing and format.

What games did Nintendo highlight?
Nintendo’s recap highlighted the reveal of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection and new details about EA SPORTS Madden NFL 26 and EA SPORTS FC 26. These are examples of the announcements, not a complete list.
The event video also names Persona 3 Reload, Star Wars Outlaws, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, Borderlands 4, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, and OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0. For the full set of announcements, consult Nintendo’s recap or the full presentation.

Was it a general Switch 2 presentation?
No. Nintendo framed this as a Partner Showcase focused on games from publishing partners, for both Switch 2 and the original Switch. It should not be read as a hardware-focused presentation or as an announcement that the Switch 2 console itself was unveiled on July 31.

Nintendo’s events listing also surfaced a later Direct dated September 9, 2026; that confirms the July 2025 event is in the past, but does not establish whether a still newer announcement has since been made.
