The confirmed Monster Hunter Wilds tie-in for Monster Hunter Now was a 2025 event, not an upcoming update. Chatacabra was scheduled to arrive on February 28, 2025; Season 5 followed on March 6, and the collaboration event was scheduled to run through March 31. The official material reviewed does not confirm a new Wilds-linked update in October 2026.
When did Chatacabra come to Monster Hunter Now?
Niantic and Capcom announced Chatacabra, a monster making its first-ever appearance in Monster Hunter Wilds, for Monster Hunter Now on February 28, 2025. The Season 5 announcement placed Chatacabra’s arrival before the new season began. The official Season 5 announcement gives the arrival and update schedule.
What was included in the Wilds collaboration?
The official roadmap confirms a collaboration event with Monster Hunter Wilds and says it would continue until Monday, March 31, 2025. The reviewed official pages do not provide a complete list of collaboration features or rewards, so details beyond the confirmed Chatacabra arrival should not be assumed to be part of the crossover.
The official 2025 roadmap establishes the event’s scheduled end date. It also discusses seasonal events and other planned content, but those broader roadmap items are not, by themselves, confirmation that each was part of the Wilds collaboration.

- Players can also now ride atop the Seikret, an agile new mount enabling hunters to traverse difficult terrain, perform actions like sharpening weapons on the move, and switch between two weapons while out on hunts!
- Evolved Hunting Action – The series’ acclaimed action-packed gameplay is back and more exciting than ever! Hunters can look forward to tracking down monsters with an array of new moves, special abilities, equipment, and more. The action also now flows seamlessly from cutscenes to gameplay, resulting in a new level of immersion.
What else came with Season 5?
Season 5 was scheduled to begin March 6, 2025, at 12:00 a.m. UTC. Its announced additions and changes were season content, distinct from the specifically confirmed Wilds tie-in:
- New monsters: Glavenus and Arzuros, with elements and weaknesses listed in the announcement.
- Gameplay changes: new skills and weapon and skill balance adjustments.
- Item storage: an additional 250 item-box slots offered as a supply item.
- Progression: monster-unlock quests.
The roadmap also outlined planned seasonal events, an elder dragon debut, and a feature to exchange special materials earned from hunts and events for rewards. It said additional weapon types were planned for after summer 2025; that was a roadmap plan, not a confirmation in these materials of a specific release date.
Was there another Wilds connection later?
Yes. In March 2026, Monster Hunter Now held a 2.5-year anniversary event that brought back Hope weapons. The official announcement describes them as the first weapons hunters equip in Monster Hunter Wilds; that later event also added style customization and temporarily reduced upgrade material requirements. It was a separate anniversary event, not the 2025 collaboration. The anniversary announcement has those details.
What is Monster Hunter Now?
Monster Hunter Now is a free-to-play mobile game for iOS and Android with in-app purchases. It is built around outdoor exploration, location-based monster encounters, short hunts, crafting and upgrading equipment, and multiplayer with nearby players. It launched globally on September 14, 2023. The official game site describes the game, and Capcom’s 2026 announcement reports that the Monster Hunter series had cumulative sales exceeding 131 million units as of June 30, 2026; that figure is for the franchise, not Monster Hunter Now or Wilds.

The dates established by the official announcements—Chatacabra on February 28, Season 5 on March 6, and the collaboration’s scheduled end on March 31—are all in 2025. Those sources do not confirm a new Monster Hunter Wilds-linked update in October 2026.
