To complete Nightingale’s Hunt in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, finish Dogfight, speak to Nightingale again at the Cowsheds, and retrieve a collar from a dead Blind Dog beside the Bulba arch-anomaly. The Blind Dog pack at the Old Mill is optional. After taking the collar, follow the new objective markers to Nightingale and then deliver the electronic collar to Hamster.
How to unlock Nightingale’s Hunt
- Complete the Dogfight side quest with Nightingale.
- Speak to Nightingale again. He is described as standing by a tractor in the northern part of the Cowsheds. Accept Nightingale’s Hunt.
The quest takes you through the Cowsheds and Bulba area, with an optional objective at the Old Mill and a later sequence associated with Dire Thicket. Gamer Guides’ quest entry and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Wiki describe the unlock and locations.

Should you hunt the Blind Dogs at the Old Mill?
The Old Mill pack is a separate, optional objective; you do not need to complete it to retrieve the collar near Bulba. A walkthrough places the pack around a barn near the complex entrance. Whether you take it on is up to you: pursue it if you want to complete the extra objective, or skip it and continue toward the collar. Neoseeker’s Lesser Zone side-quest guide treats the hunt as optional.
Find the collar near Bulba
- Travel to the Bulba arch-anomaly and look for the dead Blind Dog on its northwest side. The body is described as lying past heavy machinery, against the rocks.
- Approach the body carefully. Bulba can pull you toward the anomaly, so use nearby objects for cover and avoid lingering in the pull zone while harvesting the dog.
- Loot the collar. The objective may be phrased as “Find the Collar on a Mutant near Bulba.”

What to do after taking the collar
After the collar is collected, Nightingale calls for help. Go to the active objective marker, help him, and deal with the dangerous mutant in the follow-up sequence. Then take the electronic collar to Hamster to finish the quest. Because walkthrough details may not reflect later patches or every branch, use the live objective markers if their sequence differs from these directions.
