You do not need to bring an offering. The route is also covered by an Oblivion Remastered guide; available guides do not establish every patch or platform difference.
Where to find Nocturnal’s shrine and start the quest
Nocturnal’s Shrine is northeast of Leyawiin, beside a north–south road. You must be level 10 or higher to begin the quest. Speak to the worshippers if needed, then activate the statue. No offering is required.
How to learn where the Eye of Nocturnal is hidden
- Go to Leyawiin and ask residents about the city. The rumor directs you to Weebam-Na and Bejeen, who have been discussing a valuable jewel.
- Visit Weebam-Na’s house and ask both Argonians about the Eye of Nocturnal. They deny knowing about it.
- Leave the house, then re-enter in Sneak Mode. Stay undetected while they talk; their conversation reveals Tidewater Cave as the hiding place.
How to retrieve the Eye from Tidewater Cave
Travel to Tidewater Cave and follow the route toward its underwater passage. The Eye is in the submerged area. Use the active quest marker if you need help navigating; guides report hostile creatures in the cave, but do not establish a single enemy count or route description.
Return the Eye and claim the reward
Take the Eye back to Nocturnal’s Shrine and return it to complete the quest. The reward is the Skeleton Key, described by walkthroughs as a reusable, unbreakable lockpick that raises Security by 40 points while carried.
