When did Out of Sight launch?
The standard, screen-based Out of Sight launched on May 22, 2025. Starbreeze announced that date in March for several platforms, then confirmed the PC and console launch on May 22. Nintendo’s store lists June 12, 2025, as the Switch release date, so Switch did not arrive on the originally announced May date.

Starbreeze confirmed the May 22 launch on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and said Switch would follow in June. Nintendo’s official Switch store page specifies June 12. The May launch announcement and Nintendo listing establish those release dates; they do not, by themselves, establish present-day storefront availability in every region.
What is Out of Sight about?
Sophie is blind and must navigate a haunted mansion with the help of her teddy bear. The perspective is part of how the game presents that premise, but the official descriptions frame it differently: Starbreeze calls it “second-person,” while Steam says players see through Teddy’s eyes. Nintendo describes a blend of first- and second-person perspectives. These are the sources’ own descriptions rather than a single agreed technical label.

Starbreeze’s launch announcement called the game “a deeply personal, eerie, and emotionally resonant game that invites players to see things differently.” The description captures its emphasis on perception and the relationship between Sophie and Teddy; it is not a claim about accessibility features beyond the stated premise.
Is Out of Sight VR a separate game?
Yes. Out of Sight VR is a separate title developed by Flat2VR, not VR support for the standard game. Steam’s page for the screen-based Out of Sight lists “VR Support: N/A,” while Starbreeze announced the VR title independently.

Starbreeze said Out of Sight VR launched on Steam VR on May 22, 2025. In its March 2025 announcement, the company described Meta Quest and PlayStation VR2 versions as planned for later. Those were plans announced in 2025; they do not establish whether either version is available now. For the standard game and its Steam VR status, see the Steam listing.
