The most compelling high-impact Silksong setup in the available guides is a Bind-focused combination: Claw Mirror + Multibinder + Injector. A build guide says it turns each Bind into healing and damage nearby enemies, but it is a recommendation—not a proven winner across bosses or versions. For repeat hits and clustered enemies, consider Cogwork Wheel; for other fights, choose tools around enemy position, your Crest’s slots, and your resource limits.
How to choose a strong Tool combination
Silksong uses Crests and colored Tool slots, rather than Hollow Knight’s Charm and Notch system. You equip one Crest at a time, and its available slots constrain which combination you can carry. Memory Lockets can unlock additional slots. The Hollow Knight Wiki’s Tools overview describes the slot system; a Silksong.codes build guide describes Crests as the frames that determine the loadout.
- Red Tools are limited-use offensive items and generally need refilling at benches, usually for Shell Shards.
- Blue Tools provide passive combat or survivability benefits.
- Yellow Tools generally support utility or exploration.
- White slots are used for Silk Skills, according to the Silksong.codes guide.
Think of a combo as a trade-off rather than a universal ranking. Check whether it fits your Crest, whether it supports your intended fight or exploration route, and how much it asks of limited-use tools or Silk. The sources available do not provide controlled comparisons across damage, survival, resource use, or specific bosses.
Bind-focused healing and damage
The clearest named synergy is Claw Mirror + Multibinder + Injector. Silksong.codes recommends it as part of a Hunter Crest “Silk Weaver” loadout, alongside Silkshot, Spool Extender, and Rune Rage. The guide says the trio makes each Bind heal twice and deal significant damage to nearby enemies; it also says Multibinder and Claw Mirror together activate Claw Mirror twice per Bind, with Injector adding further value.

It is a candidate for players who want healing to have extra combat value, provided the tools fit their current Crest and the described effects apply in their game version. The guide does not show controlled tests or establish how the combination performs against particular bosses or alternatives.
Cogwork Wheel for repeated hits and groups
Cogwork Wheel is a Red Tool option when repeated hits or clustered enemies are the priority. The Hollow Knight Wiki lists its damage per hit as 2/3/4/6/7 across upgrade levels and says it can hit up to seven times, for listed totals of 14/21/28/42/49. The page describes it slowing against an enemy to land repeated hits and identifies closely packed groups as a strong use case. Capacity matters: the same page records that patch 1.0.28650 reduced maximum capacity from 8–16 to 5–10. Its listed Tool Pouch capacity progression is 5/6/7/8/10. Because Red Tools have limited uses and generally require bench refills, weigh the potential hits per deployment against how often you can replenish it. Avoid relying on older capacity figures.
Choose tools for the enemy and the space
There is no single offensive combination that suits every encounter. Nintendo Life’s guide to all tools gives situational examples: Curveclaw can arc around to hit flying enemies, while Tacks and Cogwork Wheel are options for ground-based foes, large enemies, and minibosses. The same community wiki reproduces an in-game line from Forge Daughter: “Crafting by claw alone produces inferior results.
