When did Overwatch 2 Season 20 start?
Blizzard scheduled Season 20 to arrive on December 9, 2025. The announcement was published December 2, 2025, so the season is a past release as of October 8, 2026. Blizzard’s announcement is available at Give the Gift of Vengeance in Season 20: Vendetta.

Who was the new Season 20 hero?
Vendetta, a melee damage hero
Blizzard billed Vendetta as “the first melee DPS Hero in Overwatch history!” The Overwatch team described a close-range fighter who uses a blade to lunge, slice, leap, and close the distance to opponents. That description reflects Blizzard’s announcement, not an independent gameplay assessment.
Her story
Blizzard connects Vendetta’s story to Antonio Bartalotti and Talon. After being denied her inheritance, she fought in the Colosseo pits. The announcement presents this as her backstory rather than a detailed account of her place in the broader Overwatch timeline.

What else did Blizzard announce for Season 20?
Stadium additions
Stadium was set to add Doomfist and Wuyang as heroes. Blizzard also highlighted a Cassidy rework, a new Top 500 tier, a rank reset, a China Control map, and a League 6 Reaper Chase skin.
Competitive updates
The announcement described Challenger Score, win streaks, queue bonuses, and social visibility for top-ranked heroes. It also said rank progress lost to banned cheaters would be restored.

Winter Wonderland and its rewards
Winter Wonderland was announced for December 9, 2025–January 7, 2026. It included Mischief & Magic and an event reward system with three paths using Winter Cookies. Blizzard listed Frozen Demon Junkrat and Frozen Mountaineer Cassidy as skins earnable through event progress; Jingle Tracer, Krampus Junkrat, and Santa Claus Torbjorn were named as reward-track targets.
Mythic cosmetics
The two Mythic cosmetics Blizzard highlighted were the Divine Desperado Cassidy Hero skin and the Capsule Cannon Orisa Weapon skin. The announcement described customization and visual effects but did not establish their current availability or pricing.

Battle Pass cosmetics
Blizzard announced five Legendary and three Epic skins for the Battle Pass, along with emotes, charms, and currencies. Named skin examples were Yukizaru Genji, Celestial Venture, Colder: 76 Soldier, Frost Lich Reaper, Skadi Freja, Cold Front Tracer, Ice Crystal Symmetra, and Winter Guardian Illari.
The Ultimate Battle Pass was described as including the Premium Pass, 20 tier skips, 2,000 Coins, the High Society Vendetta skin, and Reindeer Tracer. These are the contents stated in the Season 20 announcement, not confirmation of a current offer.

Avatar: The Last Airbender collaboration
The returning collaboration was scheduled for December 16–29, 2025. Blizzard paired the characters and heroes as follows:
- Katara: Mei
- Aang: Zenyatta
- Appa: Orisa
- Toph: Venture
- Zuko: Genji
- Suki: Kiriko
Shop collections and gifting
Blizzard previewed Cozy, Borealis, and Heist collections. The announcement also said Battle Passes, currency bundles, and premium packs could be gifted to friends through Battle.net.

Can you still get Season 20 skins and rewards?
The announcement gives past event windows, but it does not establish which limited-time cosmetics or rewards can still be obtained now.
