EA says Patch 9 for the PC version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor removes Denuvo DRM and includes performance and quality-of-life changes. The publisher lists frame-rate and hitching fixes, ray-tracing optimization, and mouse-input improvements—but provides no benchmark figures to show how much performance changes in practice.
What EA says Patch 9 changes on PC
EA describes the update as focused primarily on performance and quality of life. Its notes list changes across frame rates, hitching, ray tracing, input, loading, and stability. These are publisher-announced fixes; the notes do not quantify their real-world effects.

- Frame rates and hitching: EA says it improved frame rates for various hardware configurations and fixed several sources of frame-rate hitching.
- Ray tracing: The patch optimizes CPU use for ray tracing, with the stated aim of scaling better alongside high-end GPUs.
- Mouse input: EA lists fixes for performance issues related to using a mouse as gameplay input.
- File optimization screen: The “Optimizing Game Files” screen was optimized to take advantage of multiple CPU cores.
- Menus: Mouse-and-keyboard functionality was improved across several menus.
- Crashes and collision: The notes list a fix for an elevator collision issue at low frame rates, a conversation-related crash fix, and fixes for intermittent crashes.
Denuvo removal: what the announcement establishes
EA’s Patch 9 notes state: “Denuvo DRM has been removed.” That confirms the publisher announced Denuvo’s removal from the PC version in this update. The notes do not isolate the effect of removing Denuvo from the other changes, so they do not establish whether or how much that removal affects frame rates, stuttering, or loading.
Do the notes show how much faster the game runs?
No. EA publishes no before-and-after measurements, benchmark results, or specific frame-rate gains in the Patch 9 notes. The listed improvements describe the changes EA says it made; they are not evidence of a particular FPS increase or of a uniform result across PCs. Independent testing across comparable hardware and settings would be needed to quantify actual performance differences.
