Nintendo Switch 2 did not launch in spring: Nintendo set the console’s release date for June 5, 2025. A separate spring 2026 date on Nintendo’s schedule is for the game Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, not the hardware. Because the headline gives no rumor source or specific clues, the rumor itself cannot be independently identified from that wording alone.
When did the Nintendo Switch 2 come out?
Nintendo announced on January 16, 2025 that Switch 2 would arrive in 2025, without giving an exact date. On April 2, 2025, the company confirmed the console would be released on June 5, 2025. Nintendo’s release announcement is the definitive date for the initial hardware launch; the earlier 2025 announcement did not specify a spring launch.

What does Nintendo’s spring release refer to?
Nintendo’s May 2026 investor schedule lists Yoshi and the Mysterious Book for May 21, 2026. That is a game release date, not the Switch 2 console’s launch date. Nintendo cautions that schedules can change and dates can vary by region, so consult the official schedule for its stated context.
The title of the rumor does not name a game, source, or clue, so the May date cannot be confirmed as the rumor’s subject. It is only a separate, verified spring software date.

Nintendo announced a Japan-only Japanese-Language System choose-your-game bundle scheduled for November 12, 2026. Its suggested retail price is ¥63,980 including tax, and the announcement says buyers can choose a digital game from Mario Kart World, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream.
