Nintendo’s June 18, 2024 Direct focused on Nintendo Switch games announced for the second half of that year, with some releases dated for 2025. Its biggest reveals included The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Mario & Luigi: Brothership, Super Mario Party Jamboree and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. The presentation also featured remakes, third-party games, a free sports update and additions to Nintendo Switch Online libraries.
What was announced at the June 2024 Nintendo Direct?
The event was a Nintendo Switch-focused presentation. Nintendo said it would run for about 40 minutes and concentrate on games coming in the second half of 2024. The release dates below are the dates or windows Nintendo announced during the Direct; they are not a guide to current availability.
Nintendo’s official video description also stated: “There will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during this presentation.”

What were the biggest game reveals?
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Nintendo announced the game for September 26, 2024, with Zelda—not Link—as the playable protagonist. The central echo mechanic lets Zelda use Tri’s staff to create copies of objects and monsters, which can help solve puzzles and fight enemies. Nintendo also announced a gold Nintendo Switch Lite Hyrule Edition for the same date in its Danish announcement. Nintendo’s expanded announcement describes the gameplay and console edition.
Mario & Luigi: Brothership
Announced for November 7, 2024, Brothership is an island-hopping RPG adventure. Nintendo highlighted turn-based battles and Bros. Moves, which put the two brothers’ teamwork at the center of play.

Super Mario Party Jamboree
Nintendo announced an October 17, 2024 release and described a resort setting with new and returning boards. The announcement specified more than 110 minigames and online Koopathlon Mode for up to 20 players; these are Nintendo’s announced game features, not independent assessments.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Yes—Nintendo showed gameplay for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and announced a 2025 Nintendo Switch release. The Direct did not give a more specific launch date.

Donkey Kong Country Returns HD
Announced for January 16, 2025, this HD version of the Wii game includes the extra levels from the 3DS edition and local two-player co-op, according to Nintendo.

Nintendo announced several games as available through its subscription libraries during the presentation:

Was the Switch successor discussed?
No. Nintendo’s official video description said, “There will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during this presentation.” The Direct focused on Nintendo Switch games instead.
