Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Catch the Thundering Eel in the rivers of Bahari Bay using Worm bait. Its weather requirement is unclear: the Official Palia Wiki says it can appear at any time, while Palia Database lists Rain. If you are making a dedicated trip, bring Worms and try during rain rather than treating either source’s weather entry as certain.
Where to catch the Thundering Eel
Fish in rivers in Bahari Bay. The Official Palia Wiki identifies the biome as Bahari Rivers, and Palia Database gives the location as Bahari Bay River. A location guide’s tracker lists 10 pins on its map, updated August 28, 2026; those are the tracker’s known locations, not a guarantee that every current spawn is marked. View the location guide.
What bait and weather does it need?
Use Worms. The sources agree on the bait, but not on weather: the Official Palia Wiki says any time of day and does not give a rain requirement, while Palia Database lists “Anytime” and shows Rain in its weather column. Treat rain as a useful condition to try, not a confirmed requirement. Check the current game if the fish does not appear.
How much is the Thundering Eel worth?
| Quality | Reported sell value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | 340 Gold | Official Palia Wiki; corroborated by Palia Database and gaming.tools |
| Star quality | 510 Gold | Official Palia Wiki |
These are in-game values, not real-world prices. The gaming.tools listing identifies game version 0.207.0 and was last updated September 29, 2026; game values can change with updates.

#1 Best Overall
Is it needed for a bundle or crafting?
Bundle requirements
Sources disagree on its bundle destination. The Official Palia Wiki names the Cloudcurrent Bundle, while gaming.tools lists Vault of the Gales and Year of the Riffroc. Since the lists conflict, check the active bundle requirements in your game before selling or using the fish.
Crafting and cooking
Palia Database lists Fish Fillet, Grilled Fish, Fish Stew, and Tuning Fork among the eel’s uses; gaming.tools also lists the Advanced Angler’s Kit. The wiki lists several recipes that accept any fish, including Fish Fillet, Fish Stew, Fish Tacos, Grilled Fish, Poke Bowl, Sashimi, and Sushi. These are general fish-ingredient uses, not evidence that the Thundering Eel is uniquely required for each recipe.

Display
A star-quality Thundering Eel can be placed as decor, according to the Official Palia Wiki. Keep a star-quality catch if you want to display it rather than sell it.
What does the fish description say?
The Official Palia Wiki reproduces the in-game description: “An electrically charged eel that can shock its prey into submission. Found in Bahari Bay rivers using worms.” The line supports the location and bait, but does not settle the conflicting weather information.
Sources and version context
The location, value, and use information here comes from community-maintained game references: the Official Palia Wiki, Palia Database, gaming.tools, and the location guide. The gaming.tools page reports version 0.207.0, and the wiki search result identifies Build 0.207 as its latest update context. For current spawn behavior and bundle requirements, the live game is the deciding reference.
