Some PAYDAY 3 players reported repetitive or overlapping heist-menu voices around the game’s September 2023 launch, including one account of lines looping after repeated heist selections. Those posts are anecdotal and do not show how common the issue is—or whether it persists today. Later updates changed parts of the menu and continued revising dialogue, but the official notes reviewed do not identify a fix for that specific complaint.
What players reported about the heist menu
In a September 22, 2023 Reddit post, one player described delayed menu inputs leading to repeated heist selections and a character’s voice lines looping. Another September 2023 discussion mentioned sluggish menu transitions and overlapping audio. These reports describe different experiences: one explicitly ties looping to repeated input, while the other reports overlap during slow navigation. Neither establishes a game-wide defect or its frequency.

That distinction matters: dialogue can feel repetitive simply because a line recurs, while overlapping audio during menu navigation may point to a timing or input problem. The launch-era posts do not establish that every repeated line had the same cause.
What PAYDAY 3 updates changed
October 2024: menu UI revamp
In its October 30, 2024 UI revamp announcement, the official PAYDAY site described changes to the main menu, party system, lobby preplanning, results screen, main-menu widgets, and server browser. The announcement documents interface work; it does not describe a specific fix for heist-selection voice repetition or a general audio-mute setting.

February 2024: story-video and audio notes
The official Update 1.1.1 changelog says a preference was added to remember whether story videos are shown or hidden in heist selection. It also lists fixes for other audio situations, including voice lines playing during assault waves and a heister’s starter loud voice line playing mid-game. These are not documented as a general switch for disabling heist-selection dialogue, nor as a fix for the menu-looping report.
September 2026: continued dialogue revisions
The official Update 3.9 changelog says most heists received voice-over and text changes for a new story and campaign. It also lists more reliable Shade dialogue on Dirty Ice, additional voice lines on Syntax Error, and removal of a redundant Shade line on Gold & Sharke. This confirms dialogue was still being adjusted, but the notes do not say that the heist-selection repetition complaint was fixed.

Is the dialogue still too repetitive now?
The available evidence cannot answer that for all players. The reports describing looping and overlap date to September 2023; the later official notes document UI and dialogue changes but do not report a systematic test of this particular behavior. They also do not provide a current rate of occurrence or a platform-by-platform comparison. It would be inaccurate to present the old posts as proof that the issue remains common—or to treat later updates as proof it was resolved.

- A recurring line without overlap: This may be a matter of how repetitive the dialogue feels; the cited sources do not establish a setting to disable heist-menu dialogue.
- Several lines playing over one another after menu inputs: That resembles the navigation-related symptoms in the launch-era reports, but those accounts alone cannot diagnose a current instance.
- Other voice-line problems: The February 2024 notes cover specific in-game audio bugs, not the heist-selection complaint, so those fixes should not be assumed to apply.
If the behavior is disruptive, note what you were doing when it happened—such as rapidly selecting or reopening a heist—and whether the problem is repeated dialogue or overlapping playback. That description keeps the two symptoms distinct when reporting the issue; the cited sources do not establish a particular current workaround.
